JANUARY 2021 SHOP LOCAL, HIRE LOCAL email: [email protected] The Voice of the Community www.ucra.co.uk UPMINSTER & CRANHAM RESIDENTS’ ASSOCIATION Happy New Year to The Windmill restored to its you all! glory We hope you have all had a great Christmas and wish you a very Happy New Year. See page 17 for full story Firstly, I would like to thank all our volunteers, who over the past year have continued to help produce and deliver The Bulletin during these difficult and challenging times. The Association would also like to extend a very warm welcome to all the new households that joined us in 2020. We are looking forward to working with and representing you in 2021. Last year was a very difficult year for us all, but with the continued rollout of the vaccine programme this year, I’m sure we all hope that we can return back to some normality. The Bulletin will continue to support local organisations and provide our residents with ongoing community events. During 2020 your Residents’ Councillors were involved in a number of projects, which included re-launching the Shop Local, Hire Local initiative, which encouraged residents to support our local business community. In addition, we lobbied/pushed the Conservative Administration successfully to re-open Gerpins Lane recycling centre, continue to deliver orange sacks, as well as reinstating the green waste collection, during the lockdown. As always, please do not hesitate to get in touch with ideas or issues you would like us to contest or celebrate on your behalf. Please all keep safe and I hope you all have a productive and fruitful New Year.
