Each small firm operates like a business unit that interacts based on directly with the Client. It could be a construction project, small firms an industrial plant or a public service concession. Small firms are led by entrepreneur-partners and made up of a team focused on their firm’s specific activity. A school for the Odebrecht Group’s entrepreneurs, each small firm is lean, agile, and productive. Altogether, these small firms make up large firms or Businesses. Each Business has its own Entrepreneurial Leader (CEO), who works with their team to run the small firms that comprise it. There are approximately 500 small firms in the Odebrecht Group today, organized in 15 Businesses. The results of these Businesses are consolidated in the Group’s holding company, Odebrecht S.A., where the Shareholders’ representatives administer the Group’s overall investments. Odebrecht’s reason for being stems from the Communities’ real needs, which are met by small firms whose leaders are close to their Clients and therefore can better understand their needs, visualize opportunities, and offer appropriate solutions that will generate new forms of wealth for Clients, Members, and Communities. The results flow toward the large firm and reach the Shareholders. This is how the Odebrecht Group as a whole keeps to the path of Survival, Growth and Perpetuity, with its small firms focused on Survival, large firms on Growth, and the holding company on Perpetuity. < > Odebrecht 2013 8 9 Message from the Chairman of the Board EIOMÍL Odebrecht In many ways, and in different areas and fields, the Odebrecht Group has sought to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge at the most basic levels, such as lite- racy, as well as in technical education, management development, grooming entre- “Our growth must preneurs, and promoting research. A number of WPIIS delegates and others provided comments, both before and after the meeting. The Guide was first published at the end of 2005. It was prepared by Sheridan Roberts of the OECD with substantial input from a number of other contributors. This revision was also prepared by Sheridan Roberts (as a consultant to the OECD), again with the assistance of other contributors (see Acknowledgements for details). A draft was presented to the 2007 WPIIS meeting and delegates were invited to provide comments. Further changes were made during 2008 and 2009, mainly reflecting finalisation of the information economy product classifications (affecting Chapters 2 and 7, and Annex 1a).

  • Urban Public Transport Service Co-Creation: Leveraging Passenger’S Knowledge to Enhance Travel Experience
Available online at www.sciencedirect.com ScienceDirect Procedia - Social and Behavioral Sciences 111 ( 2014 ) 577 – 585 EWGT2013 – 16th Meeting of the EURO Working Group on Transportation Urban public transport service co-creation: leveraging passenger’s knowledge to enhance travel experience António A. Nunesa,*, Teresa Galvãoa, João Falcão e Cunhaa aFaculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, Rua Dr. Roberto Frias, 4200-465 Porto, Portugal Abstract Mobile devices are increasingly pervasive and are transforming information distribution paradigms. A rapidly growing segment of urban public transport passengers carry mobile computing devices, permanently and on the move. In a context of thinning financial resources, getting customers involved in the actual delivery of a public transport service as real-time information consumers and providers, may be a powerful method to enhance travel experience while reducing operational costs for the service operator. Each and every customer travelling on a public transport network has unique knowledge about the service operation as it unfolds. This paper proposes a framework that aims to unify public transport passengers’ collective intelligence through crowdsourcing, using their mobile computing devices and dedicated web services. It strives to intensify win-win relationships between public transport passengers and operators. The structured exchange of information is sustained by a validation mechanism for data reliability, and an incentive mechanism to encourage passenger participation. Passengers benefit from rich real-time data tailored to their profiles, to ease their journeys and improve travel experience, in exchange for their own participation providing and validating information. Operators gain access to rich customer generated data, which in an aggregated format may provide a real-time assessment of customer experience and of local performance across the entire network operation.
