AUDITION NOTICE

Electric City Playhouse (ECP) proudly announces auditions for Jerry’s Girls Music and Lyrics by Concepts by Larry Alford, , and Jerry Herman Directed by Alexandria Bagwell and Ian Coulter with Musical Direction by Heather Brown Presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals. www.concordtheatricals.com .

Jerry’s Girls runs October 1-10, 2021; Fridays/Saturdays at 7:30 pm; Sundays at 3 pm. Performances take place at Electric City Playhouse, 514 N. Murray Avenue, Anderson SC 29625.

Auditions will be held at ECP • Saturday, July 24; 1-3 pm • Sunday, July 25; 7-9 pm Video auditions are welcome and can be sent to [email protected]. Deadline for submission of video auditions is midnight July 24, 2021.

Synopsis: A tribute to composer and lyricist Jerry Herman, this musical extravaganza features all the best songs from such immortal musicals as , Hello Dolly!, , , A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine, and La Cage Aux Folles.

Characters/Roles: We are very excited to share that four of the original cast members from the postponed show are available and will be on the stage for this performance. To round out the cast we are looking for 4 to 8 sopranos, mezzo sopranos, and altos as well as drag performers with a baritenor range. Persons of all age ranges and ethnicities are invited and encouraged to audition.

Preparation: Please bring 32 bars of a piece that shows off your voice! Please bring sheet music for the accompanist or a track (Bluetooth speaker is available). A capella singing is also welcomed.

All auditionees are encouraged to bring a non-returnable headshot and resume. Audition forms are linked on the ECP website and you are encouraged to fill them out ahead of time. Copies will be available onsite. Should an auditionee not have a headshot, we will take a photo during auditions for the directors’ reference.

Anticipated Rehearsal Schedule: Rehearsals may begin as early as August 2 and will primarily be on weeknights, with the exception of Wednesdays, until TECH WEEK, which begins September 25. Scheduling will take into account unavoidable conflicts of cast members.
