Mr. Jeffrey Tambour Nominee for Honorary Degree May 2017

Mr. Jeffrey Tambor holds a Masters of Fine Arts Degree in Theatre Performance from Wayne State University. He was a member of the Hilberry company and he received his MFA in 1969.

Mr. Tambor is an accomplished film and television actor with a career spanning over four decades. He has appeared in many films including Mr. Mom, City Slickers, There’s Something About Mary, and The Accountant. His long career in television extends from (1977) to the now famous and critically acclaimed Transparent.

Mr. Tambor has earned deep respect for being one of the most versatile and accomplished character actors in both film and television. Tambor’s unforgettable roles in such popular programs as and reveal his unique comedic gifts, while his roles in films such as And Justice for All and Meet Joe Black display the depth and richness of his dramatic sensibilities.

In 2015, he received the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his portrayal of in Transparent, marking the third “Best Actor” award Mr. Tambor has received for the series.
