Phoracantha recurva Newman, sparse, yellowish-brown pubescence. Elytra predomi- 1840 and Coptosia sancta (Reiche, 1877) were found nantly light brown. Basal half of elytra with coarse and in Mersin and Antalya provinces in Turkey. They are deep punctation, apical half with only weak and sparse recorded for the first time for the longhorned beetles punctuation. Shoulders and basis of elytra black in a fauna of Turkey. A rare species, Parmena mutilloides narrow area. Black area on shoulders extend forward to Sabbadini & Pesarini, 1992, is a new for Isparta prov- back in a short distance in lateral view. Le specie della Macedonia e della Tracia (Coleoptera Cerambycidae) Riassunto - Nel presente lavoro vengono prese in considerazione le specie della tribù Dorca- dionini delle regioni greche della Macedonia e della Tracia. Vengono descritte le nuove sottospecie Dorcadion regulare dramaticum (Macedonia orientale), D. gallipolitanum fumidum (Tracia centrale) e D. tauricum pittinoi (Tracia orientale). Si propongono inoltre 5 nuove sinonimie e 1 cambiamento di status tassonomico, e vengono forniti una chiave dicotomica ed un catalogo delle specie della Grecia continentale. Parole chiave: Dorcadionini, Macedonia, Tracia Abstract - Researches upon the Dorcadionini of Greece. IV. The species from Macedonia and Thrace. The present work deals with the species of the tribe Dorcadionini from the Greek regions of Mace- donia and Thrace. A description is given for the new subspecies Dorcadion regulare dramaticum (from oriental Macedonia), D. gallipolitanum fumidum (from central Thrace near Egiros) and D. tauricum pittinoi (from oriental Thrace). 5 new synonimies and 1 change of taxonomic status are furthermore proposed; a key and a catalogue of the species from Continental Greece are fi nally given. Key words: Dorcadionini, Macedonia, Thrace. Introduzione Con questo contributo, che fa seguito a tre nostri precedenti (2004, 2007, 2008), concludiamo lo studio delle specie di Dorcadionini della Grecia continentale, così rinominati rispetto alla grafi a precedentemente adottata e grammaticalmente cor- retta di Dorcadiini, in osservanza all’art. 29.5 dell’ultima edizione del Codice Internazionale di Nomenclatura Zoologica, che raccomanda di conservare le grafi e maggiormente in uso, anche se grammaticalmente scorrette. -

Bugs and Beasties of the Western Rhodopes (a photoguide to some lesser-known species) by Chris Gibson and Judith Poyser [email protected] Yagodina At Honeyguide, we aim to help you experience the full range of wildlife in the places we visit. Generally we start with birds, flowers and butterflies, but we don’t ignore 'other invertebrates'. In the western Rhodopes they are just so abundant and diverse that they are one of the abiding features of the area. While simply experiencing this diversity is sufficient for some, as naturalists many of us want to know more, and in particular to be able to give names to what we see. Therein lies the problem: especially in eastern Europe, there are few books covering the invertebrates in any comprehensive way. Hence this photoguide – while in no way can this be considered an ‘eastern Chinery’, it at least provides a taster of the rich invertebrate fauna you may encounter, based on a couple of Honeyguide holidays we have led in the western Rhodopes during June. We stayed most of the time in a tight area around Yagodina, and almost anything we saw could reasonably be expected to be seen almost anywhere around there in the right habitat. Most of the photos were taken in 2014, with a few additional ones from 2012. While these creatures have found their way into the lists of the holiday reports, relatively few have been accompanied by photos. We have attempted to name the species depicted, using the available books and the vast resources of the internet, but in many cases it has not been possible to be definitive and the identifications should be treated as a ‘best fit’. -

He wrote (p. 131) “The school itself should be a pleasant place, and attractive to the eye both within and without. […] If this is done, boys will, in all probability, go to school with as much pleasure as to fairs, where they always hope to see and hear something new.” Further (p. 167) Komensky added: “The desire to know and to learn should be excited in boys in every possible manner.” The idea of linking the fun with didactics finds many followers, expressed also in tittles of activities like “Science is Fun” or “Physics is Fun”. In (Karwasz, Kruk, 2012) we defined three complementary aspects of any bit of information (an exhibition object, a film, a lecture): entertainment (“ludico” in Italian), didactics, and science. The first aspect gives an impression to a student/ visitor/ listener: “how funny it is!”. The didactical aspect induces: “How simple it is!” And the aspect of scientific curiosity induces in best students a question: “How complex it is!” These three functions add-up like three basic colors to give a full spectrum of enlightenment. The entertainment function can be performed in different forms – school, extra-school, complementary to school. -

RIV. PIEM. ST. NAT., 5, 1984: 205-230 STUD1 SUL GENERE PARMENA LATREILLE, 1829 (Coleoptera Cerambycidae) (Prima parte) SUMMARY - Studies on the genus Parmena Latreille (Coleptera - Cerarnbycidae). The species of Parrnena of the balteus group are revised basing on the penis shape and the armature of internal sac proposed as a new diagnostic character. A wider summary and the key for the species in english language, will be proposed at the end of the second part. I1 genere Parmerza Latreille, 1829 (typus generis: Lamia pubescerzs Dalman, 1817), a distribuzione tipicamente mediterranea,' comprende longicorni di piccole e medie dimensioni (mm 5-13), di colorazione poco appariscente (elitre grigie o brune, ornate spesso di una fascia trasversale mediana pih scura) e pertanto parti- colarmente adatta a mimetizzarli con l'ambiente in cui vivono. Privi di ali me- tatoraciche funzionali, essi si tengono, infatti, fra le foglie morte sul terreno, nelle screpolature dei muri, fra le radici o aggrappati ai rami delle piante o delle erbe su cui si sono sviluppati. Le larve si evolvono in gallerie scavate sotto la cortec- cia di rami morti di diverse essenze arboree (anche resinose) o nel canale midollare di alcune piante erbacee. Morfologicamente sono caratterizzati da antenne discretamente robuste, col pri- mo articolo corto e robusto, fortemente ristretto nella sua parte prossimale; le elitre sono allungate, fortemente convesse, arrotondate agli omeri e saldate alla sutura; ali atrofizzate. Le larve sono ben distinguibili, fra l'altro, per la presenza, sull'ultimo segment0 addominale di due (pih raramente uno) processi spiniformi. I1 genere pub essere diviso in due gruppi di specie di cui uno (gruppo pube- scens) possiede, su tutta la superficie del corpo, lunghe setole erette. -

Munis Entomology & Zoology, 5 (2): 380-498] ABSTRACT: All taxa of the tribe Dorcadiini Latreille, 1825 in Turkey are evaluated and summarized with zoogeographical remarks. Also Dorcadion praetermissum mikhaili ssp. n. is described in the text. KEY WORDS: Dorcadion, Neodorcadion, Dorcadiini, Lamiinae, Cerambycidae, Coleoptera, Turkey. The main aim of this work is to clarify current status of the tribe Dorcadiini in Turkey. The work on Turkish Dorcadiini means to realize a study on about one third or one fourth of Turkish Cerambycidae fauna. As the same way, Turkish Dorcadiini is almost one second or one third of Dorcadiini in the whole world fauna. Turkish Dorcadiini is a very important group. This importance originated from their high endemism rate, and also their number of species. However, the information on all Turkish Dorcadiini is not enough. The first large work on Dorcadiini species was carried out by Ganglbauer (1884). He evaluated a total of 152 species of the genus Dorcadion and 13 species of the genus Neodorcadion. He gave 30 Dorcadion species and 4 Neodorcadion species for Turkey. Then, the number of Turkish Dorcadion species raised to 53 with 23 described species by Heyden (1894), Ganglbauer (1897), Jakovlev (1899), Daniel (1900, 1901), Pic (1895, 1900, 1901, 1902, 1905, 1931), Suvorov (1915), Plavilstshikov (1958). -
