There will be no exceptions to this rule. 32 33 CUMBERLAND COUNTY SHOW 2011 HORSE SECTION INTRODUCTION AND GUIDELINES FOR COMPETITORS Entry 2011 – Wristband passes. Two wristbands will be allocated to the first horse, one for each subsequent horse up to a maximum of four wristbands. Wristbands must be worn on entry to the Showground. Anybody without a wristband will be charged for entry. Parking – All Light Horses and Showjumping competitors must park as directed by official parking attendants. To aid traffic flow, competitors will be issued with a parking pass which must be displayed in the windscreen of your vehicle upon entry to the Showground. To gain access to the show rings all competitors must use the horse walk ways provided. Start Times – Please note that there may be some traffic congestion leading up to and on the show field. Class start times have been staggered in an effort to reduce traffic, but please ensure that you allow plenty of time prior to the star of your first class. Under no circumstances will judging be delayed due to the late arrival of competitors, and late arrivals will not be permitted into the show ring once judging has commenced. Competitor Numbers – Numbers will be available for collection from the Horse Secretary’s office, located in the horsebox parking area, between 8am and 2pm. New Classes – The Cumberland County Show are pleased to announce the introduction of several new Sections and Qualifiers for 2011: • BSPS Heritage Ridden M&M Olympia Semi-Final Qualifier • SCOPE qualifier for BSJA competitors • Retrained Racehorses • Blue Chip Four, Five & Six Year Old Ridden Sports Horse • BSPS Bright Stars Supreme Insufficient entries – Please note that due to insufficient entries some Classes have been removed from this year’s schedule. Classes will be amalgamated if entries total 3 or less. Competitors are advised that Sections which are poorly supported at the Cumberland Show 2011 will be reviewed and may be removed from the schedule for future years. Royal International Horse Show – The Ridden Hunter and Working Hunter sections offer qualifying classes to RIHS 2012. A levy of £8 per class is charged in addition to the entry fee, which the Cumberland Show pays directly to the RIHS. Please note that the Show is no longer affiliated to the British Show Horse Association, therefore the Cob/Hack/Riding Horse Section will no longer offer an RIHS qualifier. Supreme Horse Championship - To be held at 2:15pm in the Ex-Racehorses ring. The Champion from each Light Horse section will take part, provided that their section has finished in time, and a Supreme In-Hand and a Supreme Ridden Champion will be chosen to participate in the Grand Parade. Champion of Champions - The Champion Clydesdale, Supreme In-Hand Champion and Supreme Ridden Champion will be eligible to compete in the Cumberland Show Champion of Champions competition in the Main Ring at 2:45pm. Grand Parade – To be held in the Main Ring at 3pm. Champions, Reserve Champions and 1st placed competitors will take part in the Grand Parade, provided that their section has finished in time. Grand Parade exhibitors should gather in the empty In-Hand showing rings until they are called forward to the Main Ring by a steward. 9 HORSES Classes held subject to DEFRA rules and regulations. Two wristband passes for first horse, one for each subsequent horse. Up to a maximum of 4 wristbands in total. These must be worn! The organisers of this show have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone in attendance must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring, and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the officials and stewards. SPECIAL PRIZES THE TARRABY CUP presented by the late Mr J A Armstrong (formerly by Blamire Memorial Committee) is awarded to the best female in the Clydesdale Horse Section. THE GEORGE HODGSON MEMORIAL CUP presented by Mrs Milne is awarded to the best male in the Clydesdale classes. THE HAROLD RUSSELL SILVER CHALLENGE CUP presented by the exors. of the late Mr H N Russell is awarded to the best Clydesdale yearling or 2 year old bred by the exhibitor. THE CUMBERLAND AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY CUP presented by Cumberland Agricultural Society is awarded to the best Clydesdale foal. 10 THE J S HARRINGTON PERPETUAL TROPHY presented in memory of the late Jack Harrington is awarded to the best Clydesdale animal bred by the exhibitor. THE J & D CURR MEMORIAL CUP presented by Curr Family is awarded to the best Clydesdale animal of opposite sex to the Champion. CHALLENGE CUP presented by the late Mr J Armstrong is awarded the best animal in the Clydesdale Horse classes, age to be considered. CLYDESDALE HORSE SOCIETY SHIELD presented by The Clydesdale Horse Society is awarded to the best yearling or 2 year old colt or filly registered or eligible for registration with the Society and not having won a shield before in its lifetime. The Longines Royal International Horse Show 2012 Classes 1 - 5 are qualifying events for The Longines RIHS 2012, with 1st & 2nd placed horses to qualify. Only horses registered on the Show Hunter Register are eligible to enter. Qualifiers must enter RIHS 2012 directly. 11 National Hunter Supreme Championship Show 2011 (Sept 6th & 7th at Addington Manor E.C, Bucks) Classes 1 - 4 are qualifiers for the NHSCS 2011, and the three highest placed horses in each class will qualify. Bright Stars Performance Supreme: Class 6 is affiliated to the BSPS, both members and non-members with registered or unregistered animals are able to compete.
