Based on orbital data in ESA’s DISCOS database and on orbital data provided by KIAM the situation near the geostationary ring is analysed. From 1523 objects for which orbital data are available (of which 0 are outdated, i.e. the last available state dates back to 180 or more days before the reference date), 519 are actively controlled, 795 are drifting above, below or through GEO, 189 are in a libration orbit and 19 are in a highly inclined orbit. For 1 object the status could not be determined. Furthermore, there are 59 uncontrolled objects without orbital data (of which 54 have not been cata- logued). Thus the total number of known objects in the geostationary region is 1582. From 1434 objects for which orbital data are available (of which 2 are outdated, i.e. the last available state dates back to 180 or more days before the reference date), 471 are actively controlled, 747 are drifting above, below or through GEO, 190 are in a libration orbit and 15 are in a highly inclined orbit. For 11 objects the status could not be determined. Furthermore, there are 50 uncontrolled objects without orbital data (of which 44 have not been cata- logued). Thus the total number of known objects in the geostationary region is 1484. In issue 18 the previously used definition of ”near the geostationary ring” has been slightly adapted. ITU-R M.2109 1 REPORT ITU-R M.2109 Sharing studies between IMT-Advanced systems and geostationary satellite networks in the fixed-satellite service in the 3 400-4 200 and 4 500-4 800 MHz frequency bands (2007) Executive summary This Report provides a summary of the sharing studies between IMT-Advanced systems and geostationary satellite networks in the fixed-satellite service (FSS) in the 3 400-4 200 and 4 500-4 800 MHz frequency bands. It was conducted by ITU-R in the framework of Agenda item 1.4 of WRC-07, in accordance with resolves 5 to Resolution 228 (Rev.WRC-03), as these bands were identified as candidate bands for future development of IMT-2000 and IMT-Advanced systems, as described in the Report ITU-R M.2079. The bands 3 400-4 200 MHz and 4 500-4 800 MHz are allocated worldwide on a primary basis to the FSS. This Report presents the results of the sharing studies performed between geostationary satellite networks in the FSS and IMT-Advanced systems. The following areas are covered in this Report: − Regulatory information. − Frequency usage by satellite services in these bands, provided on a global and regional basis. − FSS space and earth station deployments. − Considerations on potential identification of the 3 400-4 200 MHz and 4 500-4 800 MHz bands for IMT-Advanced. − Parameters of the systems considered in this Report. − Sharing studies (methodologies and results) between the two services from two aspects: − Interferences from IMT-Advanced transmitters to receiving FSS earth stations (in-band and adjacent band, and overdrive of the FSS receivers). -

The shareholders and management of Ciel include experienced Canadian satellite experts and users, *** and a well-respected international satellite operating company with an exemplary record of service worldwide. Through its shareholders, Ciel possesses substantial Canadian financial, technical and operating resources and is uniquely positioned to introduce the benefits of competition to the domestic satellite industry. Indeed, Ciel firmly believes that if sustainable domestic satellite competition among Canadian service licensees is to be attained, the time is now or the opportunity will be lost. ASTRIUM and the ARIANE programmes.................. 39 2 Data relating to Flight 210 1. Introduction Flight 210 is the 66th Ariane 5 launch and the sixth in 2012. It follows on from a series of 51 consecutive successful Ariane 5 launches. An ARIANE 5 ECA (Cryogenic Evolution type A), the most powerful version in the ARIANE 5 range, will be used for this flight. Flight 210 is a commercial mission for Ariane 5. The L566 launcher is the ninth in the A5ECA family to be delivered by ASTRIUM ST to Arianespace as part of the PB production batch. The PB production contract was signed in March 2009 to guarantee continuity of the launch service after completion of the PA batch comprising 30 launchers. The PB production batch comprises 35 A5ECA launchers and covers the period from 2010 to 2016. L566 is consequently the fortieth complete launcher to be delivered to Arianespace, integrated and checked out under ASTRIUM responsibility in the Launcher Integration Building (BIL). In a dual-payload configuration using the SYLDA 5 “A” system and a long pattern fairing (total height: 17 m), the launcher is the communications satellites EUTELSAT 21B in the upper position and STAR ONE C3 in the lower position. -
