Acquisition Information This collection was given by Gordon Bower to Stanford University, Special Collections in October 2014. Biographical / Historical Gordon Bower is the Albert Ray Lang Professor (Emeritus) of Psychology at Stanford University. He received a BA from Case Western Reserve University in 1954, and an MS (1957) & Ph.D. (1959) in from Yale University, both in Psychology. Bower's research interests include the study of human memory, mnemonic devices, retrieval strategies, recording strategies, and category learning, including cognitive processes, emotion, imagery, language and reading comprehension as they relate to memory. Scope and Contents The collection consists primarily of teaching files and research files, correspondence, as well as files from professional organizations.
