The Psychology Concentration Requirements: 1. PS 101 or a score of 4 or 5 on the AP Psychology Exam.

2. Nine Principal Psychology Courses: PS 231: Physiological Psychology. Please note: • NE 101 (Introduction to Neuroscience) will count in place of PS 231 (Physiological Psychology) if a student took NE 101 prior to declaring their psychology major, or was a previous neuroscience major who switched to psychology, or is a current neuroscience/psychology double major. • All students who are psychology majors, and do not fall into one of the categories above, need to take PS231. • Students will not be awarded credit for both courses. Students may receive credit for PS 231 or NE 101, but not both.

Eight Additional Principal Courses (Four or more must be selected from the 300 level or above) The choice of principal courses must include at least two courses from each of the broad content groups listed below. 1. English Requirement- may be satisfied by taking WR120 and WR150. The WR120 requirement may also be satisfied by taking the first year of the Core Humanities sequence (CC101and CC102). Students who complete CAS CC 201, after taking first-year Core Humanities, or who complete CAS CC 211 after taking CC 112 (Core Social Science), satisfy the CAS WR 150 requirement. 2. Math Requirement-Any CAS Math course MA109 or higher, unless satisfied by an SAT-I score of 580 or higher or an ACT math score of 23 or higher. PS 211 and PS/NE 212 do not satisfy this requirement.

3. Language Requirement- Completion of a fourth semester of a foreign language course or an SAT-II score of 560 or higher. (If you plan on taking American Sign Language to fulfill the language requirement, please contact the CAS Advising Office for additional information.)

4. Divisional Studies Requirement-A total of 6 courses outside the Social Sciences, two from each of the three divisions or the Core Curriculum (see B.U. Humanities Courses

Math and Computer Sciences (can include MA115 and116)

Natural Sciences (Students must take at least one natural science course that has a lab component.) Students who complete CAS CC 111 satisfy the natural science lab component. Please note that NE 101 does not satisfy this requirement for psychology majors.

Important Notes

- A total of 32 courses (128 credits) are required for graduation.
