PRESS-RELEASE 10 SEPTEMBER 2020 AUTOMOBILE MARKET OF RUSSIA IN AUGUST AND JANUARY-AUGUST 2020 In August 2020, sales of new MOTOR VEHICLES in Russia, based on registration data, fell by 9.1% year-on- year to 142 611 vehicles. In the first eight months of 2020 the total sales were 983 787 vehicles*, down 12.2% year -on-year, of which: • Passenger cars – 127 043 units in August 2020, down 8.3% YOY; 867 872 units in January-August 2020, down 12.4% YOY. • Light commercial vehicles including light trucks (N1 category, without pickups) and minibuses (M2 category) – 7 832 units in August 2020, down 16.4% YOY; 57 186 units in January-August 2020, down 11.5% YOY. • Pickups – 1 031 units in August 2020, down 12.3% YOY; 7 985 units in January-August 2020, down 5.6% YOY. • Trucks (except N1 category) including special-purpose vehicles –5 844 units in August 2020, down 10.7% YOY; 42 752 units in January-August 2020, down 10.5% YOY. • Buses (except М2 category) – 861 units in August 2020, down 29.1% YOY; 7 992 units in January-August 2020, down 7.1% YOY. *without sales to military, law enforcement and diplomatic agencies in RF COMMENT: Alexander Kovrigin, Deputy Managing Director of ASM Holding, commented: Usually, August is one of the worst months of a year in terms of sales of motor vehicles. The production and sales growth was insignificant, in comparison with the first quarter of 2012. The increase in the share of foreign cars in the car production and sales structure also slowed down. Car Production Over the first three months of 2013, in Russia, 452.5 thousand cars were manufactured, which is only a 0.62% increase on the production result for the same period of 2012. Shares of Russian and foreign cars in the production structure also remained almost unchanged. In January-March 2013, 140.6 thousand cars of Russian brands were produced, which amounted to 31.07% of the total production volume. For comparison, In January-March 2012, their share was equal to 31.11%. Despite the total production volume stability, in the first quarter of 2013, the dynamics of cars, produced by various manufacturers, differed significantly. So, most enterprises, producing cars of Russian brands, showed the negative production dynamics. AVTOVAZ’s car production decreased by 4.63%, in particular, due to the assembly termination of Lada Kalina cars of the previous generation and preparation for the production of a new model of Kalina cars. The car production of Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant also decreased, by 14.1%. -

Russian Military Capability in a Ten-Year Perspective 2016
The Russian Armed Forces are developing from a force primarily designed for handling internal – 2016 Perspective Ten-Year in a Capability Military Russian disorder and conflicts in the area of the former Soviet Union towards a structure configured for large-scale operations also beyond that area. The Armed Forces can defend Russia from foreign aggression in 2016 better than they could in 2013. They are also a stronger instrument of coercion than before. This report analyses Russian military capability in a ten-year perspective. It is the eighth edition. A change in this report compared with the previous edition is that a basic assumption has been altered. In 2013, we assessed fighting power under the assumption that Russia was responding to an emerging threat with little or no time to prepare operations. In view of recent events, we now estimate available assets for military operations in situations when Russia initiates the use of armed force. The fighting power of the Russian Armed Forces is studied. Fighting power means the available military assets for three overall missions: operational-strategic joint inter-service combat operations (JISCOs), stand-off warfare and strategic deterrence. The potential order of battle is estimated for these three missions, i.e. what military forces Russia is able to generate and deploy in 2016. The fighting power of Russia’s Armed Forces has continued to increase – primarily west of the Urals. Russian military strategic theorists are devoting much thought not only to military force, but also to all kinds of other – non-military – means. The trend in security policy continues to be based on anti- Americanism, patriotism and authoritarianism at home. -

With an increase in the power/weight ratio of vehicles in cities and towns, the thermal loads of many functional units increase significantly. This requires the organization of the removal of excess heat into the environment, since the violation of the proper thermal regime in individual functional units prevents the realization of the potential operational properties of the entire vehicle up to failure. At the same time, the variety of operating conditions for vehicles, causing a change in a wide range of factors of the working environment, especially road and climatic ones, creates a difficult, both in practical and theoretical terms, problem of ensuring the required thermal regime for functional units. In this regard, the paper presents a consistent development of the theory of hydro- thermodynamic properties of functional units based on the principles of constructing the operational properties of vehicles. The problems determining the further search and scientific substantiation of meters and indicators for assessing the efficiency of cooling systems, as well as the development of methods, tools and equipment for calculating and studying these systems are considered. At the same time, the work presents the improvement of the working process and designs of gas engines of tractors aimed at increasing reliability through the use of new production technologies. -

In the first eleven months of 2020 the total sales were 1 455 096 vehicles*, down 7.7% year-on-year, of which: • Passenger cars – 129 052 units in November 2020, down 4.3% YOY; 1 282 213 units in January-November 2020, down 7.8% YOY. Including electric cars - 55 units in November 2020, up 139,1% YOY; 458 units in January-November 2020, up 76.2 % YOY. • Light commercial vehicles including light trucks (N1 category, without pickups) and minibuses (M2 category) – 8 909 units in November 2020, up 0.5% YOY; 85 882 units in January-November 2020, down 6.5% YOY. • Pickups – 1 052 units in November 2020, down 17.4% YOY; 11 864 units in January-November 2020, down 1.9% YOY. • Trucks (except N1 category) including special-purpose vehicles – 6 690 units in November 2020, down 5.7% YOY; 63 544 units in January-November 2020, down 7.6% YOY. • Buses (except М2 category) – 1 223 units in November 2020, up 3.5% YOY; 11 593 units in January- November 2020, down 4.9% YOY. *without sales to military, law enforcement and diplomatic agencies in RF COMMENT: Alexander Kovrigin, Deputy Managing Director of ASM Holding, commented: Sales of passenger cars showed a slight decline (down 4.3%) in November.
