This Local Assistance support is provided under Article 3 of NYS Arts and Cultural Affairs Law for the presentation, staffing and training of the performing, Arts Grant Program Up to $5 literary and visual arts that encourage broader participation and public interest in Grant (Arts ACIP, WIP, WRP) million the cultural heritage of NY State and promotes tourism and economic development. Funding Programs: Arts and Cultural Impact Programming (ACIP); Workforce Investment (WIP); Workforce Readiness (WRP) The NYSCA/ESD Arts & Cultural Facilities Improvement Program was established to strengthen tourism; promote business development, and improve the quality, efficiency Arts & Cultural Facilities and accessibility of New York State arts and cultural organizations through targeted Up to $20 Improvement Program investments. Funding is available for, but not limited to, renovations and/or expansions Grant million (ACFIP) of space(s) that are open to the public; modifications to provide for sustainable, energy efficient spaces that would result in overall cost savings; accessibility renovations; as well as technology and other equipment that would benefit the public. Department of Agriculture & Markets (Ag & Mkts) The New York State Grown & Certified Agricultural Producers’ Grant Program will assist agricultural producers in the state in meeting food safety standards required to participate in the New York State Grown & Certified program. New York State Grown & Certified is the first statewide, multi-faceted food certification program designed to strengthen consumer confidence in New York products, address food product labeling, New York State Grown and assist New York farmers so they can take advantage of the growing market demand & Certified Agricultural for foods locally grown and produced to a higher standard. The program will make Up to $5 Grant Producers' Grant Program regional awards of up to $500,000 per region to a single entity that will serve as a million (Ag & Mkts GCAP) program administrator. Eligible program administrators include municipalities, regional and local development corporations, not-for-profits, public benefit corporations and industrial development agencies. The awarded program administrators will make the grant funding available to eligible New York State agricultural producers in their region. Agricultural producers receiving funding will be required to participate in the New York State Grown & Certified Program. NYS Canal Corporation (Canals) The Canalway Grants Program is a competitive matching grant program available to eligible municipalities and 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations along the New York State Canalway Matching Grant Canal System. Funding is for capital projects that enhance economic and community Grant Up to $1 million Program (Canals) development along the canal corridor and are consistent with the goals of the Regional Economic Development Council Plans. Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), in conjunction with the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC), offered grants to DEC/EFC Wastewater municipalities to help pay for the initial planning of eligible Clean Water State Revolving Infrastructure Engineering Up to $3 Fund (CWSRF) water quality projects. Up to $3 million has been made available for this Grant Planning Grant Program million round of the Wastewater Infrastructure Engineering Planning Grant (EPG) program. (DEC EPG) Grants will assist municipalities facing economic hardship with the engineering and planning costs of CWSRF-eligible water quality projects. The Water Quality Improvement Project (WQIP) program is a competitive, statewide reimbursement grant program open to local governments and not-for-profit corporations for implementation projects that directly address documented water quality impairments Water Quality Improvement or protect a drinking water source. Projects eligible under the Water Quality Up to $87 Project Program (DEC AHR, Grant Improvement Program include: municipal wastewater treatment; nonpoint source million MS4, NPS, Salt, SWP, WQIP) pollution abatement and control from non-farm sources; land acquisition projects for source water protection; salt storage; aquatic habitat restoration; and municipal separate storm sewer systems. The Climate Smart Communities (CSC) program, funded under Title 15 of the Environmental Protection Fund, is a competitive grant program awarding 50/50 matching grants to eligible municipalities to implement climate adaptation and Climate Smart Communities mitigation projects across the state. Projects eligible under the CSC Grants Program Up to $10 Grant Program (DEC CSC) include: flood risk reduction; extreme weather preparedness; reduction of greenhouse million gas emissions from non-power sector sources, with an emphasis on transportation and food waste; and projects undertaking pre-implementation actions related to Climate Smart Communities Certification. 5 Type of Resources Program Program Description Funding Available Department of Labor (DOL) Grant funding is available to for-profit and not-for-profit businesses, training providers, and Local Workforce Development Boards to upgrade the skills of the workforce. Under Existing Employee Training (EET), current employees in low- and middle-skill positions will receive occupational skills training, in classroom settings, to attain or Workforce Development Up to $5 retain middle-skills occupations. Under the Unemployed Worker Training (UWT), Grant Grants (DOL EET, UWT) million unemployed or underemployed workers, with an emphasis on individuals with barriers to employment and veterans, will receive occupational skills training, in classroom settings, to be qualified to attain full or part-time employment or higher level of employment in available positions in the region. Department of State (DOS) The Local Government Efficiency (LGE) Grant program assists local leaders identify best practices and implement actions focused on reducing municipal expenditures, Local Government Efficiency limiting the growth in property taxes and increasing efficiencies in service delivery. Up to $4 Grant Grants (DOS LGE) Projects can include local government reorganization, functional or service delivery million consolidation, cooperative service agreements, and establishment of regional service delivery mechanisms. The Department of State's Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP), funded under Title 11 of the Environmental Protection Fund, provides matching grants on a competitive basis to eligible villages, towns, cities, and counties located along New York’s coasts or designated inland waterways to revitalize communities and waterfronts through planning, design, and construction projects. Grant categories Local Waterfront Revitalization Up to $15.2 include preparing or implementing a LWRP; updating an LWRP to mitigate future Grant Program (DOS LWRP) million physical climate risks; redeveloping hamlets, downtowns and urban waterfronts; planning or constructing land and water-based trails; preparing or implementing a lakewide or watershed management plan; implementing a community resilience strategy; and celebrating the bicentennial of the Erie Canal - improving public waterfront access for canal communities. Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) The Green Innovation Grant Program (GIGP) provides grants on a competitive basis to projects that improve water quality and demonstrate green stormwater infrastructure Green Innovation Grant Federal Up to $15 in New York. GIGP is administered by NYS Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) Program (EFC GIGP) Grant million through the Clean Water State Revolving Fund
