In 2012, the Lions ranked second in the country in man-down defense and fourth in man-up o" ense. This season, Petrullo has a bevy of juniors and sophomores on the team, and is anticipating making a splash in the East Coast Conference. The maroon and white’s depth has been a strong point of em- phasis for Petrullo, who stated: “We # lled a lot of spots in 2013.” The team boasts one of the youngest rosters in the conference, but with # ve of the Lions’ returning sophomores having started last season, they will use that experience as a springboard for this year’s success. Junior John Grebe (Farmingville, N.Y) started eight games in goal for Molloy in 2012, posting a 4-3 record. “He may have the edge on the other guys, said Petrullo. “He is seeing a lot more shots, and not coming into this year raw.” Sophomores Dan McElhinney (Franklin Square, N.Y.) , a transfer from Nassau Community College, and Alec Volpe (Glen Head, N.Y.) , who has made strides since his freshman campaign, will also compete for Senior Joseph Biscardi time between the pipes. A duo of seniors leads the way for the mid# eld. Kevin Catalano Junior James Lang (Hicksville, N.Y.) , a transfer from Division (Levittown, N.Y.) is a versatile two-way player who is unlikely I program St. John’s University and an All-America selection at to come o" the # eld. He has the ability to score, pick up ground Hicksville High School, brings intensity and athleticism that will balls and play defense. Joseph Biscardi (Wantagh, N.Y.) , the bump up the defensive end, a point Petrullo has stressed for Lions’ senior captain, plays a similar game in-between the lines 2013. Juniors Kevin Vogt (Levittown, N.Y.) and Kyle Frenger and will be on the # eld as much as Catalano. The duo combined (Levittown, N.Y.) are becoming leaders on defense. Vogt has for 22 points in 2012, o" of six goals and 16 assists.

2021-2022 STUDENT HANDBOOK -1- (this page intentionally left blank) -2- CARPE DIEM To seize the day. To grasp the opportunity. To embrace the whole of life. Let these words be your inspiration for personal growth and professional development. Let them guide and fire your imperatives. Let them underline the vigor and enterprise necessary to achieve great victories. Capture the essence of living the full life. Engage the day. This is, indeed the moment. The opportunity may not come again. Besiege the occasion, wage war upon it. For it is the resolute of mind who receive the greatest achievement and the highest fulfillment and reward. Be vigilant and diligent. The genius of life and secret to success is to capture each precious opportunity. For to seize the moment personally is the essence of living a full life – the kind so many desire and so few know how to achieve. Over 1,300 student‐athletes from the conferenceʹs nine member schools and 17 associate member schools were honored. ʺWe are happy to celebrate the outstanding academic accomplishments of our student‐athletes,ʺ said Dranoff. ʺAs we know, this past year was not an easy one ‐ athletically, academically or emotionally ‐ for any of the team members we are honoring. However, they all worked to be successful and we are extremely proud of their hard work and dedication.ʺ Molloy led the way with the most honorees, coming in at 203. The Lions were the only school to top 200 student‐athletes on the list. St. Thomas Aquinas was the runner‐up with 158, while Mercy was close behind with 154.
