Daemen will make its NCAA tournament debut Friday when the seventh-seeded Wildcats meet second-seeded Stonehill in the opening round of the East Regional. The Wildcats gained at automatic bid by capturing the program’s JANUARY (5-0) first East Coast Conference tournament championship this past Sunday following a 68-56 win over Molloy College. Daemen has posted its first 20-win season since 2012-13. The Wildcats also posted a 13-game winning streak during the season, which ranks as the longest winning streak of their NCAA era (2015-present). Daemen leads the MARCH (0-1) ECC in scoring margin (+14.2), ranks second in scoring offense (69.2 ppg) and ranks third in scoring defense (55.0 1 @ New York Tech * L, 47-43 papg). 16 of Daemen’s 23 wins have been by 15 or more points. 7 New York Tech # W, 76-56 6. The NCAA Division II Softball Championship provided for a field of 64 teams. The championship was held in Salem, VA and was hosted by the Mountain East Conference and City of Salem. The 64 teams participated in regionals at 16 institutional sites and then super regionals at eight institutional sites in double-elimination tournaments to determine the final eight participants. Congratulations to the University of Southern Indiana on winning the 2018 championship. 4. Dates for 2019 Division II Softball Championship. The 2019 championship will take place May 23-27 at the Regency Athletic Complex in Denver.

    USBWA NATIONAL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (Feb. 20, 2018) MEN: TOMMY BOLTE, Concord University (Mountain East Conference), 6-1, Jr., G Hometown: Chillicothe, Ohio Tommy Bolte is the first player to receive U.S. Basketball Writers Association Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Week in consecutive weeks since the Division II national player of the week program's inception in the 2014-15 season. He also represents the third consecutive award winner from the Mountain East Conference. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound guard averaged 35.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists for Concord, which swept a pair of MEC contests last week. Bolte is the leading scorer in NCAA Division II this season, averaging 30.3 points per game, and he is averaging 38 points over the past four games. He kicked off the week with 37 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals to lead the Mountain Lions to a 95-86 win over Notre Dame College, and he added 34 points and 7 rebounds in a 63-60 victory over Urbana University. Bolte scored the final eight points of Concord's win over Urbana. On the week, Bolte shot 54 percent (22-for-41) from the field and shot 88 percent (21-for-24) from the free throw line.
