This event in Bad Krozingen will enhance our activities in the German- speaking region. We offer an attractive competition located at the gorgeous border triangle between Black Forest and the Vosges. This event is designed not only for German singers and singers from neighbouring countries such as France, Switzerland, Austria and Belgium. The cities Basel, Colmar and Strasbourg are located nearby and provide an international flair so that participating choirs from all over the world feel welcome instantly. The focus is on the get-together of choirs from all over the world, mutual performances at the most attractive places of the city and its surroundings and on exciting competitions. These competitions bear the Musica Mundi quality seal which marks all INTERKULTUR competitions. I am looking forward to meeting you in spring 2015 in Bad Krozingen. We will warmly welcome you! The concert should be preferably a cappella or with own instruments. (Piano or FC E-Piano can be provided upon request.) Please be aware that several friendship concerts are planned open air. In the event that weather conditions do not allow this, some concerts may be cancelled due to the weather. The organizers will try to manage alternatives but choirs do not have any legal claim to this. Choirs can also take part in Friendship Concerts ONLY (Non- competitive Festival Participation). 5 PARTICIPANT INFORMATION – Chorfestspiele Bad Krozingen 2015 2. Competitive Participation 2.1 Categories of Competition A1- Mixed Choirs; A2- Male Choirs; A3- Female Choirs Four pieces have to be performed: 1) A1 Gabriel Rheinberger Drei geistliche Gesänge, op. 69 - Nr. 3 Abendlied Difficulty level I A2 Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy with Zwei geistliche Chöre, op. 115 – Nr. 1 Beati mortui compulsory piece A3 Franz Biebl – Ave Maria 2) one piece by a composer born after 1873 3) one piece by a composer who is alive at time of A registration 4) one piece of the choir’s choice Number of singers: A1 minimum 31; A2 & A3 minimum 26 Singing time: The singing time should be at least 12 minutes and must not be longer than 20 minutes. Accompaniment: Maximum 1 Piece B1- Mixed Choirs; B2- Male Choirs; B3- Female Choirs Three (3) pieces have to be performed: Difficulty level II 1) and 2) 2 pieces of different character and from different musical epochs 3) on folksong arrangement B Number of singers: unlimited Singing time: The singing time should be at least 8 minutes and must not be longer than 15 minutes Accompaniment: Maximum 1 Piece C1- Chamber Choir / Vocal Ensembles of Equal Voices; C2- Mixed Chamber Choir / Vocal Ensembles Five pieces have to be performed: Chamber Choir 1) C1 female & male: /Vocal Ensembles Vytautas Miškinis: Ave Regina coelorum C2 equal voices: with compulsory piece Vytautas Miškinis: Cantate Domino a cappella 2) One piece by a composer born before 1685 C 3) One piece by a composer born between 1773 and 1809 4) one piece of the choir’s choice 5) one piece of the choir’s choice Number of singers: C1 minimum 4, maximum 25; C2 minimum 4, maximum 30 Singing time: The singing time should be at least 12 minutes and must not be longer than 20 minutes. Accompaniment: not permitted 6 PARTICIPANT INFORMATION – Chorfestspiele Bad Krozingen 2015 G1- Children’s Choirs up to 16 years old SSAA G2- Youth Choirs of equal voices (Girls up to 19, Boys up to 25 years old) G3- Youth Choirs of mixed voices (up to 25 years old) Children’s Choirs Four pieces have to be performed: Youth Choirs 1. one piece from the participant’s home country 2. one piece not from the participant’s home country 3. one piece by a living composer (at time of registration) G 4. one piece of the choir’s choice Number of singers: unlimited Singing time: The singing time should be at least 8 minutes and must not be longer than 15 minutes Accompaniment: maximum 2 pieces Three (3) pieces have to be performed: 1) one sacred piece by a composer who was active in the 19th century Sacred Choral Music 2) one sacred piece by a living composer (at time of a cappella registration) 3) one sacred piece of the choir’s choice S Number of singers: unlimited Singing time: The singing time should be at least 8 minutes and must not be longer than 15 minutes Accompaniment: Maximum 1 piece The ensembles perform a freely chosen folklore program Folklore typical for the choir’s home country. Choreography is permitted.
