www.guarachiwinepartners.com LETTER FROM ALEX GUARACHI

We have some exciting news to share. We have changed the name of our company from TGIC Importers Inc. to Guarachi Wine Partners.

2015 is a big year for us. We are celebrating our 30th anniversary as a global fine wine company, and in honor of this milestone, we are leaving behind the outdated parts of the company name, to acknowledge the enduring winery partnerships that we built our business on.

In a lot of ways, Guarachi Wine Partners is my personal American Dream story. I came to the United States from on a soccer scholarship, and when an injury devastated my athletic dreams, I went back to my roots for inspiration on what to do next. I was living in the backyard of Napa Valley and Sonoma County, and saw an opportunity to educate the American con- sumer on the great wines that could also be made in my home country. It was surely an uphill battle trying to compete with California wine, but through dedication and perseverance, the US consumer began to embrace the incredible quality and terroir of South American wine.

In the beginning, I worked out of a garage and performed every task, from warehouse manager and truck driver, to door-to-door salesman. Now according to Nielsen, we are the #1 importer of South American wines over $10 in the US, and were recently honored by Wine Enthusiast as Importer of the Year.

Today, we are a dynamic global importer, marketer and producer of fine wines, but the heart of the company remains the same. We are a family owned business that continues to work in tandem with our long-time winery and distributor partners to gain traction and recognition for the world’s best wines.

We look forward to working with you in our 30th year, as Guarachi Wine Partners.

Sincerely,

Alex Guarachi Founder & CEO Guarachi Wine Partners BODEGA NORTON Founded in 1895, Bodega Norton is one of the strongest Argentine brands in the US. Bodega Norton combines a modern, state- of-the-art facility with rich heritage and old world charm. The average vine age of its five vineyards is between 30-80 years old, driving richness and depth across the entire portfolio. Bodega Norton produces exceptional wines at appealing price points with enormous consumer mind share and popularity in the United States.

La Colonia Vineyard – Located in Luján de Cuyo, the first official appellation in , Bodega Norton’s largest vineyard produces powerful red grapes led by Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. The alluvial soil, for which this region is famous, drains rather than retains water, so roots must grow deep. This stress contributes to the concentration and richness of the wine.

Perdriel Vineyard – Home of the original Bodega Norton property, this region is characterized by the alluvial soil and low water retention, ideal for producing Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec varieties.

Agrelo Vineyard – The proximity to the Andes Mountains and the cool weather brought on by the elevation aids in the concentration of flavor needed for great Malbec.

Lunlunta Vineyard – This plantation is home to Bodega Norton’s KEY SELLING POINTS oldest vines, first planted in the 1920s, and 100% devoted to Malbec. • Reserve Malbec is Bodega Norton’s flagship, with Medrano Vineyard – Bodega Norton’s vineyard at the lowest 90+ point scores for the past seven vintages elevation - the sandy lime soil produces high-quality white grapes such as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. • Privada named as #45 in Wine Enthusiast’s Top 100 Wines of 2014 WINEMAKER PROFILE Jorge Riccitelli, Chief Winemaker • Chief Winemaker Jorge Riccitelli named Winemaker Bodega Norton’s Chief Winemaker since 1992, Jorge Riccitelli brings of the Year 2012 by Wine Enthusiast a lifetime of education, experience and expertise to the winery and has played a vital role in its success and growth. ACCOLADES In addition to Winemaker of the Year 2012 from Wine Enthusiast, Bodega Norton was a finalist for Wine Enthusiast’s Best New World Winery of 2011. Bodega Norton’s Reserve Malbec has received 90+ scores from Wine Enthusiast or Wine Spec- tator for seven consecutive years and 3 of the last 5 vintages were in Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Best Wines in the World. With more than sixty Denominación de Origens, or “DOs,” Spain has diverse terroir and varietals. Castillo de Monséran is located in Cariñena, Spain – the Spanish DO known as the birthplace of Garnacha. Castillo de Monséran is part of the Bodegas San Valero cooperative owned by more than 700 small independent growers with an average of 9 acres of vines, all known for their extremely low yields and exceptional quality. Castillo de Monséran’s old world charm and logo represent the traditional Spanish castles found throughout the region.

VITICULTURE & TERROIR Cariñena is a Spanish DO in the Zaragoza province, Aragon region of Spain. Located at the highest altitude (1,900 – 2,600 feet) and with the oldest soils in the area that contain glacial and alluvial deposits, Castillo de Monséran displays layers of complexity and flavor. Very little rain falls during the growing season concentrating the fruit intensity of the grapes. The Cariñena region experiences huge day to night temperature differences, an important factor for fruit and color development. Castillo de Monséran has the largest holding of old vines in the region with 2,000 acres of vines age 50+ years old.

After accepting a scholarship to San Jose State, he almost made his dream a reality, but just as he was being scouted by the pros, a career ending injury shattered his hopes. It’s in those types of difficult situations that a person’s true character is revealed. For Alex, another passion of his was the wines of his homeland. He saw Chile as a viticultural paradise, but in 1985, the idea of selling wines from South America seemed crazy, especially in the backyard of Napa & Sonoma. But succeed he did. Working from a garage and performing every task, Alex was order taker, warehouse manager and truck driver. He built his importing company into one of the industry’s leading companies and in 2010 was honored by the Wine Enthusiast as Importer of the Year.

However, for Alex one piece was missing. As he established permanent residence in North America, he longed for the opportunity to farm grapes and create wines of his own. With the founding of Guarachi Family Wines in 2007, Alex Guarachi fulfilled his dream. Established in 1998, the first release of Tensley totaled just 100 cases. Though Tensley has grown in size, the philosophy has never changed - source the best fruit possible and let the vineyard speak for itself.

WINEMAKER PROFILE Jennifer Tensley Jennifer’s road to winemaking was not a direct one though her interest in wine started early. When she was twelve years old, her mother, a wine importer at the time, decided to move them to Paris. It was an incredible learning experience that immersed Jennifer in French culture and the culture of winemaking.

In 2001 Jennifer moved to Santa Barbara County’s wine country, feeling that it would be a perfect opportunity to combine her two passions - wine and writing. The beautiful and peaceful countryside provided an idyllic creative setting and gave her an opportunity to start working with local wineries.

In 2002 she met up-and-coming winemaker Joey Tensley. The connection was immediate and by 2003 they were married and had a son. Tensley Wines is a hands-on operation, and Jennifer spent a great deal of time working side by side with her husband. By 2005 she wanted to create her own expression of Santa Barbara terroir, through the lens of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Keeping true to the Tensley tradition, Jennifer has held on to a simple philosophy behind her winemaking - get out of the way and let the vineyard speak for itself.
