USF's annual literary magazine will be released on May 10, according to magazine editor-in-chief, Delia Gallagher. "The Ignatian has gone through many changes while I have been at USF," Gallagher said. "When I was a freshman, few students were aware of the existence of this publication, so there were less submissions." In thc past few years, the number of copies printed has increased from 500 lo 1,200. Although lasl year 2,000 copies were primed, Gallagher slates lhat "quality is better lhan quantity." The amount of submissions rose from last year by 10 percent. Gallagher accredits the rise in submissions to the increased awareness of thc magazine and to the fact lhal students realize the importance of being published in a creative magazine while still in college. "The Ignatian is designed to be a snapshot of the University's interests, to be a focus for creative ideas and expressions," Gallagher said. "It's goal is to encourage artistic expression and to provide an opportunity for USF students to publish thcircrcativc work." This year an art portfolio was added to thc magazine, highlighting iwo USF student's art work, in color. In anticipation of next year, Gallagher has been working closely with Zack Holodovsky, Ignatian advisor, to expand thc publication from a strictly literary magazine lo an inter disciplinary journal containing academic essays. My Hardest Course

Sitting before our lovcable new color Macintosh Ilsi entitled Poe (as in Edgar Allen) I can't help but wonder how I am going lo write my last editorial. Everything thai has happened this past year to myself and this staff all seems a blur. In the back of my mind I can faintly remember our first staff meeting, with Kimberly Kauer smirking behind her hand, as I addressed a somewhat ragtag group of individuals. And it was those early issues of the Fall semester that wc all learned an important lesson only lhe Foghorn can leach... "everyone is an expert and the Foghorn is always wrong." In thc beginning I had a hard lime adjusting to this fact. Many of our staff members would become annoyed as anyone and their brother would wander by our lower-level Phelan outpost to tell us their expert advice. When I glance up to those carly issues, hanging above me, I can'i help bul shudder. From thc first issue, as "Incoming Student's Win Big" to the while-thing issue (or number five of 23 issues), there were many emotional moments for us as wc yelled and screamed at each other aboul what went wrong. From Uicn on things seemed to get a little bit better with each issue as our writing, and of course our design improved...thank you Bill. Silling here typing, as Bill talks widi Kim aboul lhe from page stories, I can easily remember all the limes we all decided "I QUIT." There were times when I would pass Mychael Urban on campus and he would walk by without even acknowledging my "hello" by mumbling, with a stern look upon his face,"I quit."
