In 1998 EEA published Guidelines for the implementation of the EUROWATERNET monitoring network for inland waters. In every Member Country a monitoring network should be designed according to these Guidelines and put into operation. Together these national networks will form the EUROWATERNET monitoring network that will provide information on the quantity and quality of European inland waters. In the future they will be developed to meet the requirements of the EU Water Framework Directive. This publication presents the Finnish EUROWATERNET monitoring network put into operation from the first of January, 2000. It includes a total of 195 river sites, 253 lake sites and 74 hydrological baseline sites. Groundwater monitoring network will be developed later. In addition, information about Finnish water resources and current monitoring strategies is given. Fennica 10: 7-28. 27 species of Chloropinae are recorded from Finland, 7 of them for the first time. 14 species are recorded from Karelia and 3 from the Kola Peninsula, all for the first time. The distributions of all species in the territory investigated are mapped. The type specimens of Lasiosina parvipennis Duda are examined and a lectotype designated. A key to the genera and species of Chloropinae, except for species of the genera Chlorops and Meromyza, is given. The distribution in Finland of all species of Chloropinae, including the genera Chlorops and Meromyza, is dis­ cussed. The fauna of Chloropinae of Finland is compared with the faunas of St. Petersburg Province, Estonia and Yakutia. Emilia P.     1(4) LÄNSI-UUDENMAAN YMPÄRISTÖTERVEYDENHUOLTO MUUTTUU 1.1.2008 ALKAEN Länsi-Uudellemaalle on 1.1.2008 alkaen perustettu seitsemän kunnan yhteinen seudullinen ympäristöterveydenhuollon organisaatio. Länsi-Uudenmaan ympäristöterveyteen kuuluvat Karjalohja, Karkkila, Lohja, Nummi-Pusula, Sammatti, Siuntio ja Vihti. Kaikkien kuntien viranhaltijat ovat 1.1.2008 alkaen Lohjan kaupungin palveluksessa. Länsi-Uudenmaan ympäristöterveys huolehtii 1.1.2008 alkaen ympäristöterveydenhuollosta Karjalohjan, Karkkilan, Lohjan, Nummi-Pusulan, Sammatin, Siuntion ja Vihdin alueilla. Organisaation henkilöstöön kuuluu viisi kaupungineläinlääkäriä, seitsemän terveystarkastajaa ja toimistosihteeri. Organisaation toimintaa johtaa ympäristöterveyspäällikkö. Käytännössä yhdistyminen tuo joitakin muutoksia siihen, kehen pääasiassa otetaan yhteyttä eri asioissa sekä missä toimipaikoissa asiointi tapahtuu. Seudullinen organisaatio on jaettu toistaiseksi kuntarajoja noudattaviin alueisiin, joille on nimetty vastuuhenkilöt. Jatkossa alueisiin ja vastuuhenkilöihin saattaa tulla muutoksia. Mahdollisista muutoksista tiedotetaan Lohjan kaupungin internetsivuilla (http://www.lohja.fi). YMPÄRISTÖTERVEYDENHUOLTO Ympäristöterveydenhuoltoon kuuluvat yksilön ja hänen elinympäristönsä terveyden suojelu sekä elintarvikkeiden, kulutustavaroiden ja kuluttajapalvelusten valvonta. Ympäristöterveydenhuoltoon kuuluu myös kemikaalilain sekä tupakoinnin vähentämiseksi annetun lain mukainen valvonta. Ympäristöterveydenhuoltoon kuuluu osana lisäksi eläinlääkintähuolto. Eighteen ofthe species are also new to the Nordic region, viz.: Mycomya (Mycomya) livida (Dziedzicki, 1885); Neoemphe­ ria bimaculata (von Roser, 1840); Phthinia winnertzi Mik, 1869; Sciophila pseudoflexuosa Kurina, 1991; Sciophila setosa Garrett, 1925; Allodiopsis gracai Sevcik & Papp, 2003; Brevicornu arcticoides Caspers, 1985; Exechia pseudo- festiva Lackschewitz, 1937; Exechia repandoides Caspers, 1984; Exechiopsis (Xenexechia) perspicua (Johannsen, 1912); Notolopha sibirica Zaitzev & Ma­ ximova, 2000; Pseudexechia canalicula (Johannsen, 1912); Dynatosoma sile­ siacum Sevcik, 2001; Mycetophila exstincta Loew, 1869; Mycetophila idonea Lastovka, 1972; Mycetophila triangularis Lundstrom, 1912; Sceptonia hamata Sevcik, 2004; Sceptonia thaya Sevcik, 2004. Three species are reported for the first time from the Palaearctic region, viz.: Sciophila setosa, Exechiopsis (Xen­ exechia) perspicua and Pseudexechia canalicula. The new records are based mainly on original material collected in southern Finland in 2003 - 2004. In addition the collections at the Finnish Museum ofNatural History, Helsinki were re-examined for the genera Boletina (in part), Allodiopsis, Exechia, Exechiopsis, Myrosia, Notolopha Rymosia and Synplasta.
