    Population 2010 Population Structure 2009 Number of persons aged under 15 in Finland’s population lowest in over 100 years According to Statistics Finland’s statistics on the population structure there were 888,323 persons aged under 15 in Finland’s population at the end of 2009. The number is the lowest since 1895. The size of the population under the age of 15 has been decreasing continuously since 1994. At the end of 1977, there were still one million persons aged under 15 in the Finnish population. The size of the population under the age of 15 was at its largest in 1959 when it was 1.35 million. Number of persons aged under 15 in Finland’s population in 1875–2009 On 31 December 2009, the total population of Finland was 5,351,427 in which 2,625,067 were men and 2,726,360 women. In the course of 2009, Finland’s population grew by 25,113 persons. For the third successive year migration gain from abroad contributed more to the increase of population than natural growth. During 2009, the number of persons aged 65 and over in the population increased by good 18,000 and totalled 910,441 at the end of 2009. The largest age cohort in Finland’s population was persons born in 1948. At the end of 2009, they numbered 82,738. Persons over 100 years of age numbered 566, of whom 82 were men and 484 women. Demographic dependency ratio highest in Etelä-Savo and lowest in Uusimaa The demographic dependency ratio, that is the number of under 15 and over 65-year-olds per 100 working age persons was 50.6 at the end of 2009.

Suurimpana yksittäisenä vaikuttava- na tekijänä oli kuitenkin täydellinen tietämättömyys työn laajuudesta. Ajatus kirjaamiseen ja kirjaamisen järjestelmälliseen toteuttamiseen tieto- kannan avulla syntyi vuonna 1997 useiden omaan sukututkimusharras- tukseen liittyvien hautausmaakäyntien jälkeen ja läheisten sukututkijays- tävien avustuksella ja kannustuksella. Sammatti kotikuntana ja sopivan pienenä seurakuntana tuntui aluksi ihanteelliselta kohteelta. Työn nyt valmistuttua toivon siitä olevan iloa ja hyötyä laajemminkin - erityisesti sähköisen julkaisun muodossa. Sähköinen julkaisu tarjoaa helpot hakumahdollisuudet ja mahdollisuuden levittää tietoa paperijul- kaisua laajemmin. Kirjaaminen ja tietojen syöttäminen on kuitenkin ollut käsityötä ja virheille herkkää toimintaa, joten on selvää, ettei tietoja pidä käyttää lähteenä il- man yksittäisten tietojen tarkistamista. In 1998 EEA published Guidelines for the implementation of the EUROWATERNET monitoring network for inland waters. In every Member Country a monitoring network should be designed according to these Guidelines and put into operation. Together these national networks will form the EUROWATERNET monitoring network that will provide information on the quantity and quality of European inland waters. In the future they will be developed to meet the requirements of the EU Water Framework Directive. This publication presents the Finnish EUROWATERNET monitoring network put into operation from the first of January, 2000. It includes a total of 195 river sites, 253 lake sites and 74 hydrological baseline sites. Groundwater monitoring network will be developed later. In addition, information about Finnish water resources and current monitoring strategies is given. Fennica 10: 7-28. 27 species of Chloropinae are recorded from Finland, 7 of them for the first time. 14 species are recorded from Karelia and 3 from the Kola Peninsula, all for the first time. The distributions of all species in the territory investigated are mapped. The type specimens of Lasiosina parvipennis Duda are examined and a lectotype designated. A key to the genera and species of Chloropinae, except for species of the genera Chlorops and Meromyza, is given. The distribution in Finland of all species of Chloropinae, including the genera Chlorops and Meromyza, is dis­ cussed. The fauna of Chloropinae of Finland is compared with the faunas of St. Petersburg Province, Estonia and Yakutia. Emilia P.
