Our products now include more than 25 realistic Train Simulator scenario packs, each of which is available at the Steam Store and Dovetail Games Store. Metro-North Commuter Railroad Metro-North Commuter Railroad is one of the United States largest commuter operations, with daily ridership of approximately 300,000 passengers and annual ridership in excess of 87 million. Operating as an entity of New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), Metro-North operates three commuter lines from New York City’s Grand Central Terminal — the Hudson Line extending, via Croton-Harmon, to Poughkeepsie, New York; the Harlem Line extending, via White Plains and Brewster, to Wassaic, New York; and the New Haven Line, extending via Stamford, to New Haven, Connecticut. The New Haven Line, operated in cooperation with the Connecticut Department of Transportation, includes branch lines to New Canaan, Danbury, and Waterbury, Connecticut. Metro-North also is a partner with NJ Transit in operating “West of Hudson” lines from Hoboken (New Jersey) Terminal to Spring Valley and Port Jervis, New York. To serve its three routes from Grand Central Terminal, Metro-North utilizes electric-multiple-unit (EMU) trains as well as diesel powered trains hauling Shoreliner “push-pull” equipment. Most diesel-powered trains utilize General Electric P32AC-DM locomotives. EMU trains on the Hudson and Harlem lines most typically employ Metro-North’s M7A electrics while the New Haven Line employs M8 EMUs, the latter of which are equipped to operate both from third-rail D. C. and overhead catenary A. C. power. The Scenarios Metro-North Scenario Pack 01 features Metro-North Commuter Railroad operations on the Hudson Line and New Haven Line utilizing the Train Simulator Hudson Line: New York – Croton-Harmon Route Add-On and NEC: New York – New Haven Route Add-On. The scenario pack’s ten career scenarios are closely based upon actual railroad operations. In addition to contemporary Metro-North equipment such as the M7A and M8 EMUs and P32AC-DM Shoreliner trains, the scenarios selectively include notable now-retired Metro-North equipment including the M2 and M4 EMUs and EMD FL9 dual-mode locomotives. All “player” experiences are in operating Metro-North trains, while Amtrak intercity passenger and CSX freight operations are represented by AI. Scenario scoring is based upon points (up to 1,000) achieved for meeting timetable expectations. All scenarios in this pack require Train Simulator and the Hudson Line: New York – Croton-Harmon Route Add-On and/ or NEC: New York – New Haven Route Add-On. Select scenarios also require for equipment (as specified in the individuals descriptions, pages 3-6), the Metro-North M2 EMU Add-On; Metro-North Kawasaki M8 EMU Add-On; New Haven FL9 Loco Add-On; and/or Amtrak Acela Express EMU Add-On. Your train is a six -car set of veteran MNCR M4 EMUs and you have ten intermediate station stops scheduled between New York and Stamford. Duration: Approximately 60 minutes. Featured: Metro-North M4 EMU. Scenario requirements: NEC: New York – New Haven Route Add-On; Hudson Line: New York – Croton-Harmon Route Add-On; Metro-North M2 EMU Add-On; Metro-North Kawasaki M8 EMU Add-On; Amtrak Acela Express EMU Add-On. 4 Metro-North Scenario Pack 01 [MN 1.07] AFTER MIDNIGHT Metro-North Train 897, carded to depart New York Grand Central Terminal at 12:43 a.m., is the Hudson Line’s last Poughkeepsie-bound train of the night. Because of the late hour, the train makes more stops than usual for Poughkeepsie services and on a rainy night with a MNCR P32AC-DM and Shoreliner cars, you’ll have eight intermediate stops before reaching Croton-Harmon. Duration: Approximately 60 minutes. Featured: Metro-North GE P32AC-DM and Shoreliner equipment. Requirements: Hudson Line: New York – Croton-Harmon Route Add-On; Metro-North Kawasaki M8 EMU Add-On. [MN 1.08] BIG APPLE BOUND, PT. 1 Metro-North Train 1525 is a morning rush-hour semi-express running over the length of the MNCR New Haven Line from New Haven, Connecticut to New York’s Grand Central Terminal. You are the engineer of Train 1525 and with a set of veteran Metro-North M2 EMUs as the train’s consist, you will soon make a 6:15 a.m. departure from New Haven Union Station. Duration: Approximately 60 minutes. Featured: Metro-North M2 EMU. Scenario requirements: NEC: New York – New Haven Route Add-On; Hudson Line: New York – Croton-Harmon Route Add-On; Metro-North M2 EMU Add-On; Metro-North Kawasaki M8 EMU Add-On; Amtrak Acela Express EMU Add-On. [MN 1.09] BIG APPLE BOUND, PT. 2 Metro-North Train 1525 is a morning rush-hour semi-express running over the length of the MNCR New Haven Line from New Haven to New York’s Grand Central Terminal. In Part 1 of this two-part scenario, you proceeded from New Haven to East Norwalk and, after a short delay, you are now ready with a consist of MNCR M2 EMUs to continue to Grand Central Terminal. Duration: Approximately 70 minutes. Featured: Metro-North M2 EMU. Scenario requirements: NEC: New York – New Haven Route Add-On; Hudson Line: New York – Croton-Harmon Route Add-On; Metro-North M2 EMU Add-On; Metro-North Kawasaki M8 EMU Add-On. 5 Metro-North Scenario Pack 01 [MN 1.10] OLD WARRIORS ALONG THE HUDSON In addition to serving on the Metro-North’s New Haven Line, the commuter carrier’s famous EMD FL9s dressed in New Haven heritage livery frequently operated on the Hudson Line.
