Get out of your lazy bed “two hours and half a minute” “LAMBERT OPEN” mit Matt Bianco Kultsänger Mark Reilly Der unterschriebene Vertrag mit Mark Reilly – Frontsänger der legendären britischen Gruppe „Matt Bianco“ – war und ist für Bandleader Eissele DIE gute Nachricht schlechthin im noch andauernden Pausenjahr der Göppinger Jazzformation Lumberjack Bigband. Diese sensationelle Kombination der Kultband aus den Achtziger Jahren mit den Holzfällern steigt wie üblich am Pfingstwochenende 2020 (Freitag, 29.05.2020), jedoch bereits in der neuen Location der Firma Lambert GmbH (ehemaliger TOOM Markt – Heininger Straße 38/73037 Göppingen). Bandleiter Eissele antwortet auf die Frage, was den besonderen Reiz dieses Sängers und dieser Band ausmacht, dass „diese Musik äußerst Bigband-tauglich ist und v.a. unmittelbar in den Körper geht, da sie durchgehend tanzbar ist…da wird kein Fuß und kein Bein regungslos bleiben…“. Dazu kommt noch, dass Eissele schon immer ein Riesenfan dieser Gruppe und dieser Musik ist, die sich im Bereich „New Jazz-Sophisti Pop“ mit starken „Latin-Anteilen“ ansiedelt und folglich auffällig eingängig und nachvollziehbar ist. Andere Vertreter dieses Stils waren und sind die „Swing Out Sister“, „Sade“, „Spandau Ballett“ oder „Alison Moyet“ – wobei die Musik von Matt Bianco weniger balladesk angelegt ist als bei den erwähnten Formationen, sondern der Latin-Groove mehr im Mittelpunkt steht. Die 1982 gegründete Band bestand aus den ehemaligen „Blue-Rondo-à-la-Turk-Musikern“ Kito Poncioni (Bass), Mark Reilly (Gesang) und Danny White (Keyboard). Für die Aufnahmen des ersten Albums „Whose Side Are You On?“ (in Deutschland auf Chart-Platz 3 und in Österreich sogar auf Platz 1) wurde die polnische Vokalistin Basia Trzetrzelewska engagiert, daraus entstanden auch die größten Hits der Band, wie das titelgebende „Get out of your lazy bed“, das mega-bekannte „Half a minute“ oder „More than i can bear“ – alles Songs, die Reilly nach Göppingen mitbringen wird.
