Bejn l-1 u t-8 ta’ Novembru tingħata indulġenza plenarja lil min imur fiċ- ċimiterju u jitlob għall-mejtin. 2 SIGNUM FIDEI Il-Ħamis, l-1 ta’ Novembru Il-Festa tal-Qaddisin Kollha “Fl-isem tal-Missier li ħalaqni, tal-Iben li fdieni u tal-Ispirtu s-Santu li jqaddisni. Ammen.” Qari: 1. Apokalissi 7: 2-4,9-14 Rajt kotra kbira li ħadd ma jista’ jgħoddha. 2. Salm 23: 1-6 Dan huwa n-nisel ta’ dawk li jfittxu ’l wiċċek, Mulej. 3. 1Ġwanni 3: 1-3 Naraw ’l Alla kif inhu. 4. Mattew 5: 1-12a Ifirħu u thennew, għax ħlaskom kbir fis-smewwiet. SOLLENNITÀ TAL-QADDISIN KOLLHA L-eqdem ċelebrazzjoni ta’ festa ta’ qaddis hi dik tal-martri San Polikarpu, isqof ta’ Smirna, li miet fis-sena 155. Jgħarrafna mbagħad, l-għaref Duttur tal-Knisja, San Efrem, li f’Edessa fil-Mesopotamja (l-Iraq tal-lum), kienet issir fis-seklu IV il-festa tal-“Martri tad-dinja kollha”. Il-patrijarka ta’ Kostantinopoli, il-kbir duttur tal-Knisja San Ġwann Kriżostmu, kiteb li wkoll fir-raba’ seklu f’Antjokja tas-Sirja, fejn kien twieled, kienet issir il-festa tal-Qaddisin Kollha, fl-Ewwel Ħadd wara Għid il-Ħamsin. Meta mbagħad fis-sena 610, il-Papa San Bonifaċju IV, bidel il-Panteon ta’ Ruma minn tempju pagan tal-allat foloz kollha, fi knisja Nisranija ddedikata lill-Madonna u lill-Qaddisin Martri kollha, bdiet issir f’Ruma l-festa tal-“Martri Kollha’ bħal f’Edessa fit-13 ta’ Mejju. Kien però fis-sena 853, li l-Papa Girgor IV, bi ftehim mal-Imperatur Ludoviku “l-Piju” ffissa l-jum tas-sollennità tal-“Qaddisin Kollha” (u mhux il-Martri biss) għall-1 ta’ Novembru, kif għadha sal-lum fil-Punent kollu. Hi l-festa ta’ kull min jinsab fis-sema: Kristu, il-Madonna, l-Anġli u l-Qaddisin l-oħra, kanonizzati u mhumiex. Ta’ kull żmien ta’ kull post, anke ta’ dawk li għexu qabel Kristu, jew li mingħajr tort tagħhom ma daħlux fil-Knisja tiegħu, imma għexu mill-aħjar li setgħu ħajja tajba. Riflessjoni: Jekk hemm xi ħaġa li tikkaratterizza lill-qaddisin, din hi li huma tabilħaqq hienja. Skoprew is-sigriet tal-hena awtentika, li tgħammar fil-qiegħ tar-ruħ u għandha l- għajn tiegħu fl-imħabba ta’ Alla. Għalhekk il-qaddisin huma msejħa henjin. Il- beatitudnijiet huma t-triq tagħhom, id-destinazzjoni tagħhom, lejn is-sema pajjiżhom. Il-beatitudnijiet huma t-triq tal-ħajja li l-Mulej jurina, biex nistgħu nimxu fuq il-passi tiegħu. Fil-Vanġelu tal-lum, smajna kif Ġesù jipproklamahom quddiem ġemgħa kbira fuq muntanja qrib l-għadira tal-Galilija. Il-beatitudnijiet huma l-profil ta’ Kristu u, konsegwentement, tan-Nisrani. Minnhom nixtieq insemmi waħda: “Henjin ta’ qalbhom ħelwa”. Ġesù jgħid hekk dwaru nnifsu: “Tgħallmu minni, għax jien ta’ qalb ħelwa u umli” (Mt. 11:29). Dan hu r-ritratt spiritwali tiegħu u jikxfilna l-għana ta’ mħabbtu. Il-qalb ħelwa hi mod kif inkunu u SIGNUM FIDEI 3 ngħixu li jqarribna lejn Ġesù u jgħaqqadna miegħu; jgħinna nwarrbu għall-ġenb dak kollu li jifridna u jġellidna, u biex infittxu modi dejjem iktar ġodda kif nibqgħu mexjin ’il quddiem fit-triq tal-għaqda ... Il-Papa Frangisku, l-1 ta’ Novembru 2016 Meditazzjoni ta’ San Ġwann Battista De La Salle: Med.183, l-1 parti The happiness of the saints is something so great and so far above human thoughts that Saint Paul says, when he speaks of it, Eye has not seen; ear has not heard, nor has the heart of man ever conceived what God has prepared for those who love him. It is, he says, the hidden wisdom of God, which he has prepared before all ages for our glory. This eternal wisdom, which is filled with glory and majesty and constitutes all the glory and happiness of the saints, is hidden from us in this life and is known to us only through faith. It is just that only in heaven will we see God unveiled and entirely revealed. We know, says Saint John, that when Jesus appears, we will be like him, because we will see him as he is. What a joy for the saints to be made like God through participation in his nature and in his divine perfections! There God is truly in the saints by a holy sharing in his greatness, and the saints are in God, because their entire being is penetrated by God, so that they can think of and love only God. Today, pay homage to the saints, but let it be in God, because it is in him that you find them all. Admire how great is the happiness they enjoy in heaven, how wonderful is the glory they receive, and beg them to obtain from God for you the grace to share in their glory after your death. TALBA O Alla, qawwi u etern, li xgħelt dik il-fjamma ta’ mħabba fil-qalb tal-qaddisin, agħmel li aħna jkollna wkoll dik l-istess fidi u qawwa ta’ mħabba li kellhom huma, u waqt li nifirħu bir-rebħa li kisbu agħmel li aħna nimxu fuq l-eżempju tagħhom, bi Kristu Sidna, Ammen. Missierna ... 4 SIGNUM FIDEI Il-Ġimgħa, it-2 ta’ Novembru L-Għid tal-Imwiet Ta’ min jiftakar bejn nofsinhar tal-lum u l-ġurnata ta’ għada tista’ tintrebaħ Indulġenza Plenarja kull darba. (ara l-kundizzjonijiet tal-ewwel paġna) “Fl-isem tal-Missier li ħalaqni, tal-Iben li fdieni u tal-Ispirtu s-Santu li jqaddisni. Ammen.” għtihom O Mulej, il-mistrieħ ta’ dejjem. Id-dawl ta’ dejjem jiddi lilhom. Jistrieħu fis-sliem. A Ammen. Illum kull saċerdot jista’ jqaddes tliet quddisiet. Jitqaddsu b’dawn l-intenzjonijiet skont il-Liturġija: 1. skont l-intenzjoni tas-saċerdot. 2. għall-erwieħ kollha tal-Purgatorju. 3. skont l-intenzjoni tal-Papa. Qari: Is-saċerdot jagħżel il-Qari skont kif jixtieq hu. IL-FIDILI MEJTIN KOLLHA Fit-2 ta’ Novembru, il-Knisja turi b’mod speċjali s-simpatija tagħha ma’ wliedha li qed jiġu ppurifikati fil-Purgatorju. Dan il-jum huwa magħruf ukoll bħala l-Għid tal-Imwiet. Il-Knisja fuq l-art tonora b’rispett kbir lill-mejtin tagħha, u billi huwa ħsieb qaddis u siewi li titlob għall-mejtin biex jinħelsu minn dnubiethom, (2 Mark 12: 46) toffri suffraġi għalihom. Sa mill-bidunett, l-Insara kellhom ġranet fis-sena li fihom kienu jiftakru b’mod iktar mis-soltu fil-mejtin tagħhom. Fis-sena 800, kien sar ftehim bejn il-monasteri ta’ San Gall u ta’ Reichenaw li fl-14 ta’ Novembru ta’ kull sena ssir tifkira tar-reliġjużi mejtin taż-żewġ komunitajiet, u kull saċerdot iqaddes tliet quddisiet. Fis-sena 998, San Odilo, abbati tal-monasteru ta’ Cluny, ordna li l-membri tiegħu josservaw it-2 ta’ Novembru bħala Jum it-Tifkira tal-Insara mejtin kollha. Dan il-jum ta’ tifkira daħal f’monasteri oħra. Fl-1008, Liegi fil-Belġju, kienet l-ewwel djoċesi li addottat dan l-użu. Minn hemm baqa’ dejjem jinxtered bla ma qatt ġie impost uffiċjalment mill-Knisja. Fil-Gwerra l-Kbira, il-Papa Benedettu XV, fl-10 t’Awwissu 1915, estenda dan l-użu mal-Knisja tal-Punent u ddikjara li kull saċerdot jista’ joffri tliet quddisiet.
