A standardized template was designed and shared with sector partners to assess different types of interventions / provided assistance at health facility level including (assistance with Medicines, Consumables, Medical equipment, Rehabilitation, Capacity building support, assistance with mobile medical teams/fixed health posts, assessments, and any other type of support) Out of a total 22 international health sector organization, 18 (82%) has participated in the assessment. 2) Nation-wide analysis The following section provides analysis for the overall provided support by partners at a national level, and per specific categories of Health Facilities (i.e., Hospitals, Primary Health Centers, and other facilities). Of note, the partner’s provided support is overlapping between facilities, same facility could receive more than one type of assistance by a partner, and multiple partners could provide assistance for the same facility (i.e., capacity building activities, donation of medicines…). Based on the reported information, a total number of 361 public health facility has received direct assistance by different health sector partners, which represents 22% of the total public health facilities in Libya (1,656); Figure-1. Figure-1: Public health facilities received any kind of support by health sector 1355 64 97 271 26 204 Hospital Primary Health Center Other facilities Supported HFs Total HFs Health Sector | Libya Page 2 of 10 At a health facility level and between Jan to Jul 2021, the sector partners have supported 271 (20%) primary health care centers, 64 (66%) hospitals, and 26 (13%) other health facilities out of the total existing of each category, Figure-2. Figure-2: Public health facilities receiving any kind of support by health sector Primary Health 271 1084 20% Center Other facilities 26 178 13% Hospital 6433 66% Supported HFs Not Supported HFs By looking closer at the partners’ delivered assistance to the health facilities, the most reported interventions were assessments (264), consumables (245), capacity building (225), followed by medicines (210), and medical equipment (169). More details are shown in Figure-3. By looking deeper at the delivered support by category, it is found that hospitals are more covered in terms of partners’ support (56% hospitals in average have received Medicines and Consumables) compared to 12% (in average) Primary Health Centers received Medicines and Consumables. More details are presented in Figure-4 below. Of note, the same facility could receive multiple support. Health Sector | Libya Page 4 of 10 3) District based analysis: The following section provides analysis of the supported public health facilities at a district level, by number of interventions, organizations, and kind of provided support (i.e., intervention), including: medicines, consumables, medical equipment, rehabilitation, capacity building, support with mobile medical teams or fixed health posts, assessments, and any other kinds of support. Misrata District in Western Region has received the highest number of interventions, followed by Tripoli, and Al Jabal Al Gharbi. The distribution of supported public health facilities per number of interventions at a district level, is shown in Figure-5, while the distinct number of health facilities received support per district, is shown in Figure-6.
