Mercedes Benz In May 2017, Mercedes-Benz opened the world's first Digital Delivery Hub in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon, "the new «place to be» for the digital world”, creating 125 jobs in the areas of software development, app programming, Digital Delivery Hub big data, cloud computing, Java, Java script and AEM development.

Volkswagen In 2015 the President of Volkswagen confirmed the investment of €677 million in the Portuguese Palmela’s plant to introduce a new car production technology called “Modularer Querbaukasten”. This new production technology is Autoeuropa aimed at increasing flexibility in the production of passenger car models and it will start in 2018. PSA Peugeot In 2015, PSA Peugeot Citroën group announced an investment of €48 million in Mangualde’s production unit to Citroën produce an upcoming light commercial vehicle (LCV). Production is set to begin in 2018. In 2015, Bosch Car Multimedia Portugal, in Braga, announced the end of the first phase of the €19 million project between Bosch and University of Minho, the Human Machine Interface Excellence project, and new investments of Bosch €55 million in R&D until 2018, which foresees the registration of 22 patents and the hiring of 90 engineers and 170 scholarship holders.

In 2015, Toyota Caetano Portugal announced an investment of €10 million in Ovar’s plant to produce the Toyota Toyota Caetano Land Cruiser Series 70. In 2017, they signed a contract with the Government of Portugal about tax benefits, regarding an investment of around €5.9 million which aims to introduce innovative technologies and create 20 jobs.

Sakthi In 2016, Sakthi Portugal announced a new greenfield investment in Águeda, to produce safety critical automotive components. The project will create 135 new jobs and €37 million of investment.

Faurecia In 2015, Faurecia announced a €40 million investment in Bragança’s plant to produce new emission control systems, with the most innovative technology, aiming to create 400 jobs until 2017.

GMD GROUP In 2015, the French Group GMD opened a new greenfield production facility in Arcos de Valdevez to produce automotive components. Total expected investment is €25 million.
