The Target Groups of Anganwadi Services Scheme are children below 6 years, Pregnant & Lactating Mothers and all eligible women in the reproductive age group. There are 13.62 lakh operational AWCs out of 14.00 lakh sanctioned AWCs in the country. Of these 3066 AWCs in 151 ICDS Projects of 70 districts in 21 States/UTs were visited by Officials of CMU, M.E Division, NIPCCD during 2017-18.Out of 3066 visited AWCs, 2525 AWCs were found open and remaining 541 (17.65%) AWCs were found closed. INFRASTRUCTURE Out of 2525 opened AWCs, 1971 (78.06%) AWCs were located in pucca building and remaining 554 (21.94%) AWCs need to be progressively shifted in pucca buildings. 1575 (62.38%) AWCs were found running in their own buildings and remaining 950 (37.62%) AWCs need to be shifted in their own buildings respectively. The adequate availability of outdoor and Indoor space was found in 1651 (65.39%) AWCs and 1818 (72%) AWCs. The availability of separate cooking space (Kitchen) was found in 1243 (49.23%) AWCs. The concerned State Govt. and UT Administration have been requested to construct AWC buildings by leveraging funds in convergence with other schemes like MPLADs, MLALADs, Tribal Development, Multi Sectoral Development Programme (MSDP) of Ministry of Minority Affair, MGNREGA, RIDF and BRGF etc. The availability of drinking water facility was noticed in 1852 (73.35%) AWCs. 1069 (42.34%) AWCs had usable toilets and remaining 1456 (56.66%) AWCs may be provided toilet facilities. State Govt./UT administration have been requested to take necessary action in providing Safe Drinking Water & Toilet Facilities at AWCs by effective convergence with Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation by leverage funds under Fifteenth Finance Commission etc. TRAINING AND PERSONAL PROFILE Out of 2525 sanctioned posts of Anganwadi Workers, 2469 (97.78%) AWWs were found present during visit. Of these, 2134 (86.43%) AWWs had received job training. State Govt./UT Administration have been requested to review the training status of AWWs and arrange for Job/Refresher Training of untrained AWWs for the smooth functioning of Anganwadi Services Scheme. 3 Visit to Anganwadi Centres- State Specific Report (2017-18) SUPPLEMENTARY NUTRITION As per schematic norms of Anganwadi Services Scheme, AWCs are required to provide Supplementary Nutrition to the beneficiaries of target groups. Take Home Ration, Morning Snacks and Hot Cooked Meal was distributed by 69.78 percent, 52.20 percent and 73.19 percent of the visited AWCs to the beneficiaries respectively. Interruption was seen in distribution of Supplementary Nutrition during last six months in 1443 (57.15%) AWCs. It was found that out of 66402 registered children (3-6 years), 44106 (66.42%) children received SN. Similarly, out of 73527 registered children (6 months to 3 years), 62772 (85.37%) children received SN at AWCs. Out of 945 registered Severely Underweight children, 910 (96.30%) children were found availing SN and remaining 35 Severely Underweight children have not been provided SN as per norms of the scheme. Out of 15852 pregnant women registered for SN, 14167 (89.37%) pregnant women received SN and similarly, 14944 (87.39 %) lactating mothers were found availing SN out of 17100 registered. State Govt./UT Administration have been requested to optimize coverage of beneficiaries of SN under Anganwadi Services Scheme. The concerned State Govt. has also been requested to provide SN to beneficiaries, with no interruption, as per prescribed nutritional and cost norms under the Anganwadi Services Scheme. GROWTH MONITORING AND PROMOTION Baby weighing scale and New WHO Growth Charts have been prescribed for children to detect malnourishment among them. Similarly, adult weighing scale has been prescribed for pregnant women & lactating mother (P&LM) to monitor their weight during pregnancy and delivery. 1187 AWCs (47.01%) had baby weighing scale and 971 AWCs (38.46%) had adult weighing scales. The availability of new WHO child growth charts has been reported at 1690 (66.93%) AWCs. The concerned State Govt./UT Admn. have been requested to arrange for availability of baby & adult weighing scales and new WHO child growth charts at AWCs. AVAILABILITY OF KITS AND MATERIALS The programme content of pre-school activities for children needs to be largely centered on organization of play activities. The availability of PSE kits has been reported from 1558 (61.70%) Anganwadi Centres. Medicine Kits was available only in 670 (26.53%) AWCs. State Govt./UT Administration have been requested to arrange and ensure the supply of PSE Kits & Medicine Kits and other materials at AWCs as prescribed. PRE-SCHOOL EDUCATION Out of 66402 registered children (3-6 Years) for Pre School Education, 44106 children (66.42%) attended PSE at AWCs on the day of visit. State Govt./UT Administration has been requested to put efforts to increase the attendance of the pre- school children. In this regard it was suggested that all the AWCs must be equipped with contextualized ECCE Curriculum, age specific activity books and child assessment card along with adequate Teaching Learning Materials. 4 Visit to Anganwadi Centres- State Specific Report (2017-18) IMMUNIZATION AND HEALTH CHECK-UP Immunization and health check - up services under Anganwadi Services Scheme are provided by Health Department. Out of total 18273 children who completed one year, 14161 children (77.5%) were fully immunized. The adequate availability of outdoor and Indoor space was found in 19 (76%) AWCs and 16 (64%) AWCs respectively. The availability of separate cooking space (Kitchen) was found in 21 (84%) AWCs. State Govt. has been requested to construct AWC buildings by leveraging funds in convergence with other schemes like MPLADs, MLALADs, Tribal Development, Multi Sectoral Development Programme (MSDP) of Ministry of Minority Affair, MGNREGA, RIDF and BRGF etc. The availability of toilet and drinking water facility was noticed in 72 percent and 88 percent of the AWCs. There is a need to provided toilet facilities in 28 percent of the AWCs. State Govt. has been requested to take necessary action in providing Safe Drinking Water & Toilet Facilities at AWCs by effective convergence with Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation by leverage funds under Fifteenth Finance Commission etc.

An Utkrisht Vidyalaya (KG/Anganwadi-VIII) has also been developed in each Gram Panchayat under the mentorship of Adarsh school to ensure quality school coverage for other villages in the Gram Panchayat. Panchayat Elementary Education Officer- Principals of Adarsh school have been designated as ex-officio Panchayat Elementary Education Officer (PEEO) to provide leadership and mentorship to all other government elementary schools in the Gram Panchayat. These PEEOs have been designated as Cluster Resource Centre Facilitator (CRCF) for effective monitoring. Integration of Anganwadi centers with schools- Around 38000 Anganwadi centers have been integrated with schools having primary sections for improving pre-primary education under ECCE program of ICDS.

All the items proposed for the Field Season 2013-14 were timely initiated under the different Missions. The work is under progress and the assigned targets will be achieved as per schedule. 2. The highlight of work carried out during the third quarter of F.S. 2013-14 includes investigations on copper and associated precious metals in Khera block, and Khera SE block, Mundiyawas-ka-khera area, Alwar district, exploration for basemetal in Nanagwas area, Sikar district, exploration for basemetal in Palaswala ki Dhani Block, Sikar district, Rajasthan and investigation for copper and tungsten in Kamalpura Block of the Pur-Banera Belt, Bhilwara District, Rajasthan. Besides, search for cement grade limestone under Project Industrial, Fertiliser and other Minerals have also yielded significant signatures. 3. Under the item investigation for copper and associated precious metals in Khera Block, Mundiyawas-Khera area, Alwar district, Rajasthan, the borehole KBH-11 (FS 2013-14) commenced on 08.07.2013 and closed at 130.35 m depth on 13.09.2013. It has intersected light grey coloured, fine grained, hard, compact siliceous rock with occasional cherty quartzite and scapolite rich bands (meta volcano sedimentary rock). The borehole intersected sulphides manifested in the form of foliation parallel fine disseminations of arsenopyrite and fracture / vein filled coarse grained chalcopyrite with minor pyrrhotite from 44.55 m depth onwards with intermittent rich zones between 45.25 m & 49.80 m (4.55 m), 58.70 m & 63.25 m (4.55 m) Cu (V.E.) = 0.8-1.0% along the borehole.

    / ASORA'S DIIAMMA - Ninnal C. Sinha A soka's place is second in the history of Dhamma, second only to ~he founder, Gautama Siddhartha the Buddha. Both Theravada (Southern Buddhist) and Mahayana (Northern Buddhist) traditions agree on this point that Asoka is second to Buddha. Nigrodha or Upagupta, Nagasena or Nagatjuna, both Theravada and Mahayana traditions agree, rank after Asoka. Brahmanical (Hindu) literary works extant bear testimony to Asoka being a great Buddhist. Kalhana in Rajatarangini (12th Cent. A.D.) records Asoka as having adopted the creed of Jina (= Buddha) and as the builder of numerous Stupas and Chaityas. Modem scholars, mostly European, however question the authenticity or purity of Asoka's Dhamma. Critics of Asoka notice the absence of Four Noble Truths, Eight Fold Path and Nirvana from Asoka's Edicts and point to Asoka's mention of Svaga (Svarga) or Heaven in the Edicts. Some scholars hint that Asoka's toleration policy was to accommodate Brahmanical faith while others label Asoka's Dhamma as his invention. In my submission Asoka was a Buddhist first and a Buddhist last. Asoka's own words, that is, Asoka's Edicts substantiate this finding. Inscriptions of Asoka were read and translated by pioneer scholars like Senart, Hultzsch, Bhandarkar, Barua and Woolner. I 5 cannot claim competence to improve on their work and extract mainly from the literal translation of Hultzsch (Corpus Inscriptionum Indicarum: Volume I, London 1925). This ensures that I do not read my own meaning into any word of Asoka. For the same reason I use already done English translation ofPali/Sanskrit texts.

    Sabda, Volume // Nomor ?/ September 2004; 22-35 ISSN 1410-7910 BUDAYA BAHARI DAM TRADISI NELAYAN DI INDONESIA Yunandar Fakuftas Peternakan Universitas Lambung Mangkurat Banjarmasin Abstract There are at least five phenomena which mark the complexity of maritime culture and fisherman tradition in Indonesia; social group of the maritime society, the development of economic sectors concerning sea products, social hierarchy in the daily maritime activities, the relationship between the elements of maritime culture and life sectors of the society, and the continuation and alteration of maritime culture's elements. In order to acquire a deep study on the complexity of maritime culture, there are several concepts used in this paper: Koentjaraningrat's concept of "three forms of culture", Sanjek's concept of "the dynamic culture and creation", and Vadya's concept of "contextual progressive explanatory method". The forms of maritime culture include the system of culture, belief, institution, and production technology. Meanwhile, the dynamics of maritime culture and fisherman tradition is determined not only by the internal factors but also the external forces, such as, innovation on technology, government policy, university interventions, nongovernmental organizations, donor institution, and regional, national, and even global market. Apparently, those external forces have brought negative impacts on the life of maritime society, marked by the decrease of economic prosperity, natural resources and sea environment. The negative impacts can be avoided by applying community- based management in the development of maritime culture. Key Words: maritime culture, fisherman tradition, community-based management. 1. Field Season Programme for the Field Season 2012 – 13 has been initiated and the Field officers have already taken reconnoitory traverses and in most cases finalized the steps for execution of the programme. The project execution is progressing as per the prorate. 2. Work in the Mundiyawas Khera copper prospect continues to give significant results. The possibility of the prospect to become one of the largest deposit in Alwar Basin and of whole of Rajasthan still holds good. 3. Based on the encouraging analytical results of 100 m X 100 m surface grid samples, subsurface probing has been initiated in Karoi area (an outcome of NGCM work) for search of copper. Surface mineralization nature has already indicated the strike extension of the prospect for more than a kilometer with bornite as the primary sulphide phase associated with chalcopyrite. The prospect is likely to yield encouraging values for copper at subsurface. 4. All the items programmed for the Field Season 2012 – 13 have been initiated. Fieldwork have ben initiated for all the items under Mission – I and Mission – II. Fieldwork have been initiated for some items of Mission – IV. Fieldwork for the remaining items of Mission – IV will be taken up very soon. 5. For the sponsored projects of Engineering Geology, interaction is going on with the Project Authorities and the programmes will be executed very soon after signing of MOU. 6. All the officers of 35th OCG Batch joining Western Region have initiated their project work of OCG Curriculam in the respective items where they will be associated during the Field Season 2012 – 13.
