Main byelaws concerning angling in the inland waters of , extracted from the 2021 angling calendar for anglers residing abroad

Documents Angling permit issued by ETPI (Italian Fish Heritage Protection Agency) Passport or other valid document for entry into Receipt of payment of the permit Minors Each adult angler in compliance with the documents described above can accompany up to 3 minors under the age of 14. Each accompanied minor can fish using their own equipment, but within the limits of the catches allowed for those accompanying them. At the age of 14 each angler must have his/her own permit. Angling seasons Zone A: all year round Zone B: from the last Sunday of March to the last Sunday of September Lakes of Barcis, Ravedis, Ca Selva and Redona, Vajont, Pramollo, Cavazzo, Verzegnis, , and : from the last Sunday of March to October 31st TRA system (Farmed trout): from the first Sunday of March to December 31st Days and times Angling is generally allowed at all hours of the day and night, on any day of the week, within the maximum number of days of the purchased permit. In areas where eel fishing is prohibited between 8:00 pm and 6:00 am, only one fishing rod can be used with lures or floats Species close There are limits on the type of fish you can catch and keep. You cannot keep the seasons following during the close seasons shown below: Trout, char: - (zone B) from midnight on the last Sunday of September to 7:00 am on the last Sunday of March - Lakes of Barcis, Ravedis, Ca Selva and Redona, Vajont, Pramollo, Cavazzo, Verzegnis, Sauris, Ravascletto and Bordano listed above from November 1st at 7:00 am on the last Sunday of March - TRA system from January 1st to the first Sunday of March Eel: from midnight on the last Sunday of September to 7:00 am on the last Sunday of March. In some waters, you cannot keep the catch. You can use a landing net to help land fish. Main prohibitions • Boats: allowed. The "belly boat” (or float tube) is not considered a boat (therefore it can be used even where the use of boats is prohibited). • Belly-boats and boats, even remotely controlled, are not allowed for chumming and/or baiting and then fishing from the shore. • No trolling (different from drifting) • No fishing from bridges or walkways • From May 1st to July 15th do not use boilies, tiger nuts and lure, hair rigs or evolutions. • Do not place fish in common containers • If you catch fish to use as live bait it must be native species (in the CPS list) • Do not keep or use a gaff or Boga Grip fishing tool • Do not use the bottom fishing technique, such as camolera or temolera (rig for fishing on the bottom with line grazing the bottom with a weight at the end attached to a line with natural or artificial moths or flies) • Do not fish with hands or use light sources • No foul hooking • Do not use (and possession) blood or fish eggs or fleshfly larva (maggot or pinkies) • Do not use multiple hooks when deadbait wobbling. • Maximum hook gape of 10 mm when fishing for euryhaline migratory species (mullets)

For particular systems, in addition to the general regulations, the following restrictions apply: Special system for salmon fishing 1. Only one rod can be used, one single barbless hook 2. Only artificial fishing flies, metal spinners and minnows are allowed 3. The use of boats is prohibited 4. Landing net with silicone net or rubberized mesh must be used 5. When a grayling or marble trout is kept, fishing must cease for that day Special NO KILL system 6. Obligation to release (catch and release) of all specimens 7. Only artificial fishing flies, metal spinners and minnows are allowed 8. Only a single barbless hook is allowed 9. Fishing method allowed in all waters where there are no prohibitions 10. Landing net with silicone net or rubberized mesh must be used Special farmed trout (TRA) system • Minimum size of marble trout: 28 cm • Fishing must stop when second specimen of marble trout is kept Fishing districts The Region is divided into 15 fishing districts in which further restrictions may apply. Notes For each day you can choose a single system (A-B, RPS, NK, TRA) Before starting, you must write down on the authorization, using an indelible pen: • the date, in double digits (e.g. 01) • The chosen fishing system (A/B, RPS, TRA, NK), which are alternatives to each other • The district number where you are starting from • During the day you can only move in waters that come under the same system (A-B, RPS, TRA, NK), recording the district number to which you are moving • For catches of species that fall within those shown on the printed authorization (i.e. those with a daily or yearly limit) you must write it down if you decide to keep the specimen. comments No fishing areas, no eel fishing areas, districts and sections affected by the systems can be viewed in the current year’s angling calendar map, which can also be seen on the ETPI website with an interactive map
