A deux semaines de l'échéance, les préparatifs s'accélèrent pour les huit équipes engagées dans les régates du premier Louis Vuitton Trophy à Nice. Les dernières installations se mettent en place, les bateaux sont en cours de mise à niveau et préparés pour les épreuves, tandis que quelques équipes se sont entraînées la semaine dernière sur des voiliers de l'ACC pour être prêtes le 7 novembre, premier jour de la course. À Valence, site de la dernière America's Cup, où plusieurs équipes disposent toujours d'une base opérationnelle, les quatre bateaux de l'ACC qui seront utilisés à Nice ont été remis en ordre de marche pour les régates de novembre. Mardi après-midi, deux de ces bateaux, le GBR 75 (équipe TeamOrigin) et le FRA 93 (équipe ALL4ONE, anciennement K-Challenge), sont arrivés à Nice après un périple de plus de 400 miles nautiques le long des côtes méditerranéennes. « C'est génial de voir ces deux premiers bateaux à Nice » a commenté Laurent Esquier, Président de la World Sailing Teams Association (WSTA) qui, en partenariat avec Louis Vuitton et le Club Nautique de Nice, organise l'épreuve. « Nous avons été soulagés d'arriver à Nice sans difficulté. La fenêtre météo était très serrée, mais grâce au travail de toutes les personnes impliquées dans le convoyage, nous avons réussi à partir à temps et nous sommes arrivés à bon port, les bateaux intacts et prêts à naviguer », a ajouté Nick Bice, capitaine du bateau de tête. Les deux autres bateaux, ITA 90 et ITA 99, prêtés par le syndicat Mascalzone Latino (qui ne participera pas à l'épreuve de Nice), arriveront d'ici la fin du mois. « Notre équipe, présente à Nice, travaille d'arrache-pied à la préparation du village de course et à la mise en place de la logistique pour les régates. Tout est dans les temps », a confirmé Laurent Esquier : « Nous sommes impatients d'accueillir les huit équipes début novembre pour quelques courses d'entraînement avant le départ des épreuves. » Huit des meilleures équipes mondiales ont confirmé leur participation au Louis Vuitton Trophy de Nice qui se déroulera du 7 au 22 novembre : ALL4ONE (FRA/GER) Azzurra (ITA) BMW ORACLE Racing (USA) Copyright © Nice Premium Page 2/3 Les préparatifs s'accélèrent pour le Louis Vuitton Trophy de Nice. Passionnés et démonstratifs, les Italiens n'attendent même pas le passage de la ligne pour sauter de joie et se féliciter... Ils viennent de réaliser l'exploit de battre les redoutables Kiwis. « C'est une sensation incroyable, s'est réjoui à son retour à terre Francesco Bruni, le barreur.
