No need to stamp the tickets • Ticket covers all available public transportation in Hamburg (train, bus, ferries) • Price zones: you usually will stay in Zone A+B Transportation Guide (PDF) • Harbour ferries are an alternative to sightseeing boat and are part of the public transport system. • We recommend buying all day tickets or a complete week card. • Tickets may be purchased from bus driver or ticket vending machines • Single trip ticket: 3,40 € • All day ticket: 7,90 € • Group ticket (up to 5 persons from 9:00 AM): 12,40 € • Single Card for complete week: 29,20 € • All cards may be purchased only via HVV app or HVV service desk • Complete week card can not be purchased from bus driver nor ticket machine How to get around in Hamburg • Taxis • There are plenty of Taxi stations in main areas waiting for you • Taxi will cost about 60 € - 70 € from Airport to Hotel Lindtner, or 30 € to 50 € to downtown Hamburg. • Taximeter will be in every Taxi. You don’t need to negotiate. • In morning and late afternoon taxis are not faster than public transport • Bicycle • Bicycles are a great opportunity to discover downtown Hamburg. Rental stations can be found at the main points of interest. • Cycling from the hotel to downtown Hamburg will take you through some interesting parts of Hamburg. The distance will be at least 10 miles, you will need good directions. • Walking • Walking recommended in the city center and main harbour area. • You may explore the neighborhood surrounding the hotel. How to get around in Hamburg • Drive yourself • Our advice is to get familiar with German regulations in advance • Useful link: http://www.gettingaroundgermany.info/autobahn.shtml • The hotel provides sufficient parking space • To park in the City Center is possible, but compared to public transportation you will not save time (traffic jam, finding parking spaces) Useful Information • Emergency calls: • Fire: 112 • Police: 110 • Phone numbers for local help and support are available at Reception of Privathotel Lindtner • In general, if you are happy with a service (e.g. restaurant, taxi), you can add 10 % – 15 % of tip on top of the total price • Prices includes all taxes, always and everywhere • Amount of restaurants in the area of Privathotel Lindtner is limited . Therefore, we have organized Buffet / Menu dinner in the hotel for every evening. This will increase also networking possibility. It helps us to predict the amount of people for the organization. • Prices shown for the events are divided between: • price to be paid at time of registration • cost (e.g. food & beverage) or admission to be paid on you own Saturday Afternoon - Lüneburger Heide Lüneburg Heath (German: Lüneburger Heide) is a large area of heath (similar to heather), geest (unique landscape), and woodland in the northeastern part of the state of Lower Saxony in northern Germany. It forms part of the hinterland for the cities of Hamburg, Hanover and Bremen and is named after the town of Lüneburg. Most of the area is a nature reserve. During a carriage ride you will discover its highlights. In the beautiful old village of Wilsede you can enjoy a delightful lunch or climb the highest point of Northern Germany at app. 530ft. Sunday Morning – Church Services Several churches are located in the vicinity if you wish to visit a church service. Time of service is not fixed, please check with Event Coordinator. All churches are reachable by bus and some walking. 1 – St.Petrus – protestant 2 – St.Paulus – protestant 3 – Luther – protestant 4 – St.Johannis – protestant 5 – St.Maria – catholic Other interesting churches reachable by public transport are: • St. Michael – Hamburg‘s largest and most beautiful church • Church in Sinstorf – Hamburg‘s oldest church Sunday Afternoon - International Maritime Museum International Maritimes Museum Hamburg The Internationales Maritimes Museum Hamburg (abbr. IMMH, International Maritime Museum) is a private museum in the HafenCity quarter of Hamburg, Germany. The museum houses Peter Tamm's collection of model ships, construction plans, uniforms, and maritime art, amounting to over 40,000 items and more than one million photographs. Monday - Downtown Hamburg • Hamburg has huge amount of activities and attractions in the city centre and harbour area • Tour A will be a combination of shopping and Alster river tour. The shopping area is next to the Alster river • Tour B you will visit places as you want. The host committee has made some reasonable suggestions for places to visit • Please check next pages Monday - Tour A - Shopping & Alster Hamburg Shopping Mall: Europa Passage Europa Passage is a large shopping mall in the Altstadt quarter of Hamburg, Germany, located between the streets of Ballindamm/Jungfernstieg and Mönckebergstraße near the lake of Binnenalster. It was opened on 5 October 2006. Within the 5-level mall 125 shops and 27 catering outlets can be found on an overall length of around 160 metres and a space of 30,000 square metres (source: Wikipedia). After some shopping we will take a cruise on the lake and river Alster, which offers excellent views of the city and the dwellings of the rich and wealthy. Monday - Tour B - City of Warehouses The Warehouse A real adventure tour via public transport into the heart of the Harbour. From here multiple museums can be reached. Take the harbour ferry and get on and off any pontoon of interest, or go for a complete ferry cycle through the harbour.
