Fencing at the Safran Aerospace Museum: France-Russia have lined up an Olympic rematch on March 31 at 7:00 pm Are you a fencing fan? Last summer, were you on the edge of your seat watching the French foil team in the final against Russia at the Rio Olympic Games? On the occasion of the international fencing weekend, organized by the Melun Val de Seine Fencing Circle, France and Russia will meet again this Friday, March 31 at 7:30 pm at the Safran Aerospace Museum in Réau (greater Paris area), in the immediate vicinity of the Safran Aircraft Engines Villaroche facility. Come along to enjoy this sporting event in an unusual setting (admission is free)! The Russian team, crowned Olympic champions, will face France who will try to avenge the final lost in the final moments in Rio last summer on the score of 45 touches to 41. Come along to support them and attend an exceptional encounter between two of the best male foil teams in the world! The French team will be at full strength for this competition, featuring Enzo Lefort along with Erwan Le Péchoux, Jérémie Cadot, and Jean-Paul Tony Helissey. On the Russian side, Artur Akhmatkhuzin, who inflicted a 10-3 defeat on Jean-Paul Tony Helissey in the Rio final, turning the course of the match to definitively give the Russians the advantage, will be absent due to injury. He will be replaced by Dimitri Zherebchenko, accompanied by Timur Safin, Alexey Cheremisinov, and Dmitrii Rigin. The Safran Aerospace Museum in Villaroche regularly hosts sporting or recreational events. The aim is to kindle the general public's interest in the aerospace sector with a view to inspiring young people to work in this field. Une année 2020 qui a débuté et s’est terminée en pleine incertitude à cause de la crise sanitaire mondiale COVID 19. 2020 devait être une année olympique, une année importante pour le CREPS. A notre premier objectif : l’ambition de rayonnement de l’établissement dans le bassin caribéen, en renforçant les collaborations avec des établissements français et caribéens également impliqués dans l’expertise et la recherche de performance sportive, était associé notre second objectif : l’ambition de tisser de nouveaux partenariats avec des entreprises privées qui soutiennent la recherche d’excellence de notre institution. L’établissement reste toujours concentré sur la recherche d’un modèle économique dynamique qui se traduirait par une augmentation de ses ressources propres. Durant la crise sanitaire, tous les protocoles ont été mis en place et respectés pour assurer le fonctionnement de l’établissement. Tous les agents, toutes catégories confondues sont restés mobilisés pour offrir les conditions d’entrainement, de préparation et de formation optimisées à tous les publics.

For the first time, it is organizing a week long fencing camp open to both national and international fencers in foil and epee: CAMP CEMVS 2019. CAMP Melun Val De Seine sets out to offer a fun, educational and rewarding experience centered on improving your fencing skills. The Camp provides a special opportunity to learn and interact with some of the France’s top fencing talent who will also be taking to the strips to show as well as tell about the techniques that make them champions, and giving you a chance to fence against some of the best. CEMVS is recognized by the International Fencing Federation (IFF) as part of the Clubs’ Movement Initiative. The Initiative’s mission is to elevate the level and broaden the base of fencing worldwide by networking the established infrastructure of high- level clubs with guidance and support from the IFF. As a European representative organization, our goal is to provide comprehensive and world-class programs to develop top-level coaches, athletes and officials to promote the highest levels of self- sustaining fencing programs throughout Europe and the world. World Championship Fencing Individual Results by George Masin This report shows the individual event medallists at every FIE World Championship (cadet, junior, senior, and veteran). Fencing World Championship Individual Medalists 1921 European Championships (Paris, FRA - 1921.VI.10-11) Prior to 1921 there were a number of competitions that called themselves World Championships. These were usually challenge matches between two fencers each or both of which called themselves world champions. Prior to the establishment of the Federation Internationale d’Escrime (FIE) in 1913, however, there was no international body to sanction a real world championship. It was not until after World War I and the 1920 Olympic Games, though, that the FIE finally sanctioned a championship. In these early championships, each country was allowed to enter a maximum of eight fencers. From 1921 through 1936 (except in the Olympic years of 1924 and 1928) the FIE sanctioned yearly competitions called the “Championnats d'Europe” (“European Championships”). In spite of their name, non-Europeans were allowed to compete in them and so these competitions are considered to be the first world championships for fencing. It was not until 1937 that the FIE officially changed the name of the competitions from “Championnats d'Europe” to “Championnats du Monde”. Men's Epee Individual (1921.VI.10-11) The European Championships were held as one of the events during the Grande Semaine des Armes de Combat which ran from June 5 to 12 and included the French national fencing championships and other fencing events as well as shooting events.
