Svezame, otvori se! ~itanka za 9. razred devetogodi{nje osnovne {kole ^itanka je podijeljena u vi{e poglav- lja, tako da tekstove u njima pove- zuju zajedni~ke teme, o kojima se na ~asu mo`e razgovarati ili pisati. Knji`evna djela uvijek su nastajala u nekoj zajednici i u nekom vremenu, i uvijek su iskazivala ~ovjekov (umjetnikov) odnos prema `ivotu. (A `ivot je u svemu, i sve je u `ivo- tu: ljubav i mr`nja, sre}a i nesre}a, pravda i nepravda... pa ~ak i smrt.) Poglavlja ~esto po~inju ilustracijama koje na prvi pogled nemaju mnogo veze ni s knji`evno{}u ni sa samom najavljenom temom. Ali, kao {to mnogi pjesnici vjeruju, sve je sa svim u vezi, i upravo je otkrivanje tih veza avantura u koju nas ~itanje knjiga poziva. Da, ba{ tako! – ljepotu i veli- ~inu svemira mo`emo otkrivati u knjigama – razmi{ljaju}i o smislu pro~itanog. Knji`evna djela uvijek su u vezi sa svijetom u kojem nastaju. Pored njih, u ~itanci, prona}i }e{ uokvirene slike i tekstove koji se trude dopuni- ti Tvoje znanje o pokrenutoj temi. Nekada su te dopune vezane za knji`evne pojmove i u njima se obja{njavaju termini koje }e{ tako lak{e razumjeti i kojima }e{ se onda ~e{}e koristiti. Krugovi u kojima je broj strane razli~itih su boja, a boje se odnose na oblasti Uvodni tekst otkriva u kakvoj su ve- kojima se ~itanka bavi. To su: zi ilustracije s temom poglavlja. On `uta – lirska narodna pjesma je ~esto provokativan, postavlja za- zelena – epsko-lirska narodna pjesma nimljiva pitanja i o~ekuje iskrene i crvena – lirsko pjesni{tvo pametne odgovore. Za pronala`enje roza – pri~a, pripovijetka takvih odgovora ne}e biti dovoljno narand`asta – roman nekoliko minuta, ne}e ni cijeli {kol- tamnoplava – drama ski ~as, ali cijela {kolska godina mo- ljubi~asta – knji`evnost i stvarnost: putopis, ljetopis, dnevnik... `da ho}e. Ako se o pitanjima bude razmi{ljalo, i razgovaralo u {kol- skom dvori{tu, na ~asu odjeljenske zajednice, u porodici, na internetu. 4 Naslovi poglavlja su ponekad ~udni, u izrekama na koje smo navikli pro- mijenjena je jedna rije~ ili samo jedno slovo. I to }e biti jedan zadatak, za razgovor u {kolskoj klupi: kako se smisao promijenio tom jedva primjet- nom promjenom, i u kakvoj je vezi takav naslov sa sadr`ajem poglavlja. U ~itanci mo`e{ pro~itati i zanimlji- ve podatke o autoricama i autorima izabranih tekstova. Oni su ponekad va`ni, jer poma`u da se djelo bolje razumije. Svijet u kojem `ivi{ je veoma, veoma star. A ljudi su govorili i kad je svijet bio veoma, veoma mlad. Koristili su jezike koji su potekli i razvili se iz je- dnog prajezika, kao grane na starom razgranatom stablu. Jezik kojim Ti govori{ pripada indoeuropskoj jezi~- noj porodici. Svaka rije~ Tvog jezika ima svoj korijen, porijeklo. Nauka o porijeklu rije~i zove se etimologija (gr~ki: étimos: pravi, istiniti + logos: rije~, govor). Jedan od ciljeva na{e ~itanke je da nau~i{ {to vi{e rije~i, da razumije{ lak{e druge {ta govore, i da Tebi bu- de lak{e izra`avati misli i osje}aje. Nekada se to mo`e grimasom ili do- dirom, ali nekada, zaista, nema dru- gog na~ina nego rije~ima, i re~enica- ma. [to su one jasnije i ljep{e, Tvoja misao }e potpunije i br`e sti}i do onoga kome se obra}a{. Ako u tek- stu ~itanke nai|e{ na novi pojam ko- ji ne razumije{, potra`i na str. 184 i dalje njegovo obja{njenje. Naravno, ~itanke nema bez knji`ev- O svakom knji`evnom djelu mogu- nih djela. Das Internet-Videoportal bietet deshalb fast alles, um eine musikalische Reise durch den Staat, den es nicht mehr gibt, zu unternehmen. Eine Reise auf YouTube ist jedoch wie jede Reise: An einem Ort bleibt man zu lange, andere mag man nicht sehen, oft verirrt man sich, an gewissen Städten fährt man vorbei und liest erst später in Büchern von verpasster Schönheit. Die folgende Reise beginnt in den 50ern und endet um 1990. Bewusst schliesst sie gewisse Genres aus und hebt andere hervor. Die Jugomexikaner Mexikanische Musik war im Jugoslawien der 50er und 60er Jahre extrem in Mode. Es gab sogar eine eigene Genrebezeichnung: YU-Mex. Und auch die Sänger besassen einen Namen: Jugomexikaner (Jugomeksikanci). Eine nachgewiesene Spur führt zum 1950 gedrehten Film Un día de vida (Jedan dan života, Ein Tag des Lebens) von Emilio Fernández. Über die tragische Geschichte zweier Freunde, der eine Offizier und der andere Revolutionär, weinte angeblich ganz Jugoslawien. Der stolze Revolutionär ist zum Tode verurteilt. Durch die Hilfe des Offiziers kann er aber noch einmal seine Mutter, die nichts von dem Schicksal ihres Sohnes weiss, an ihrem Geburtstag besuchen.

Yugoslav socialism struggled to reconcile socialist consciousness and capitalist consumerism, forcing the producers of popular culture to make sense of the political eld that surrounded them and put ideology into practice. The structural conditions of cultural produc- tion under socialism, the use of socialist iconography and memory as resources in post-socialist popular music and the negation of the socialist experience by patriotic musicians re ect three layers of socialist legacy in contemporary Croatian popular culture. Key words: socialism, postsocialism, popular culture, popular music, Croatia, memory It might seem thankless to seek legacies of socialism in Croatian popular music, given how rmly Croatias political culture during its establishment as a sover- eign state was based on rejecting socialism. Yet Croatian independence did not signal a total break with the past even though 1990s public discourse required exactly that: people who belonged to domestic commercial popular cultures in- stitutions, audiences and markets were still remembering life in a larger spatial entity and a socialist socio-political system although they were sometimes called upon to perform a clean rupture with their past.

The most substantial cultural capital of the movement relates to “Zabranjeno pušenje” (“No Smoking”) band and the radio and television show Top lista nadrealista (Top List of Surrealists), while the biggest individual cultural capital lies with Nenad Janković, a phony doctor with the “erotic” pseudonym of Dr. Nele Karajlić. The subject matter of this article is the authorship and co-authorship of Dr. Nele Karajlić within the “No Smoking” band and the television show Top List of Surrealists in the cultural space of the socialist Yugoslavia during the 1980s. Based on your taste in music, others will invariably place you in a specific (sub)culture, class, lifestyle, and even speculate about your political commitments. Your taste in music can make or break a friendship, produce feelings of camaraderie as well as of repulsion. For some time now, scholars have viewed popular music as a dynamic cultural field, where various social meanings—attached to race, nationality, gender, and sexuality—are constantly being produced, contested, and negotiated among different communities of listeners. This insight into music as a crucial site of political struggle and collective identity formation will be the starting point in our analysis of popular music genres in the Balkans, a region of Europe that has undergone sweeping historical changes in the 20th and 21st centuries, including the fall of Communism and—in the case of former Yugoslavia—the formation of seven new nation- states through a series of bloody and brutal wars. We will begin the class by examining the emergence of Western pop genres, such as punk and new wave rock, in late socialism (in the 1980s), which became associated with urban youth subcultures, sophisticated irony, and liberalization of the one-party state. From there, we will move to the analysis of “turbo-folk,” a curious mixture of contemporary electronic and traditional folk music that became extremely popular in the 1990s, when the conflict in Yugoslavia was at its peak.

DEO PRVI PRVO POGLAVLJE koje predstavlja jedno krajnje neobično jutro Mića je mnogo voleo muziku. I muzika je volela njega. I to ne samo ona muzika koju svi umeju da čuju. Muzika klavira ili violine, gitare ili nekog drugog instrumenta. Muzika je Miču toliko volela da mu se prikazivala u svemu što je čuo. Bat ciganskih konja, otkucaj zidnog sata, lavež dorćolskih pasa, kreštav glas komšinice Perse, blaženi uzdisaji usnulog brata… za Miču je sve to bila muzika. Svet je za njega bio jedan veliki simfonijski orkestar. Tako je novom simfonijom počelo jedno neobično jutro. Sporim, ujednačenim, melanholičnim ritmom, dugih tonova. Mića pokuša da se vrati u san. Stisnu oči, zaustavi dah. Primiri misli. Uzalud. Mačak Ćirilo mjauknu pred vratima dečje sobe. Jednom, pa drugi put. Oči se same otvoriše. Zlatna sunčeva traka padala je na bratovljev krevet i škrinju u kojoj su dečaci čuvali igračke. Na plafonu, iznad uzglavlja, stajala je velika vlažna mrlja u kojoj je samo Mića video vešticu. Disao je duboko. Disanje simfoniji dodade novu melodiju. Laganu i dopadljivu. Radoznalost razbi san u hiljadu komada. Uspravi se iznad jastuka. Pogled mu dobi dečački nemir. Odskakuta po sobi kao zec u kavezu. Na ormar, na noćni ormančić, na čilim, među igračke, pod krevet, pod jorgan.
