EAST FINAL: CAR vs. BOS WEST FINAL: STL vs. SJ (BOS leads 3-0) (Series tied 1-1) A Game 4 – Thursday 8 ET on NBCSN 2019 STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS UPDATE Game 3 – Tonight 8 ET on NBCSN May 15, 2019

Today: Sharks vs Blues – Game 3 – 8pm ET on NBCSN

The Blues continued their road success in these playoffs with a win in San Jose in Game 2, evening the series at one game apiece. Now the series shifts to St. Louis, where the home crowd last saw its team pull out a Game 7 double- overtime win over Dallas to advance on May 7th.

➢ In the only regular-season meeting in St. Louis this season, the Blues def. the Sharks, 4-0, on Nov. 9.

• STL 3-4 at home this postseason (6-2 on the road – T-team record for most road wins in a single postseason)

• SJ 2-4 on the road this postseason

Jordan Binnington on Game 2: “Pretty solid game tonight. We had a good start, we were disciplined. When they tied it up, we stayed composed. That's really important, this time of year especially. We enjoyed the moment and competed hard until the end.”

SJ coach Peter DeBoer on Game 2: “The story of the game was we didn't have enough participants across the board. I thought was pretty good, a couple of other guys ... It's tough to win this time of year if you don't have everybody going, and I thought they got contributions from everybody, like we did in the first night.”

DeBoer: “The one thing I take comfort in is our character, our ability to bounce back and ability to recognize what we've got to fix it. We've done that the entire playoffs ... Hey, this isn't going to be easy. It's not supposed to be easy. We're down to the last four teams. Look at their record since January, and they're the best team in hockey.”

SJ Kevin Labanc: “We just kind of let off the gas pedal I think. Gave them a little too much room to make plays. . The focus for next game is play a full 60 minutes and not give them anything for all three periods.”

Yesterday: Bruins 2 Hurricanes 1 (BOS leads 3-0) Game 4: Thursday 8pm ET on NBCSN

On a night when a plethora of Carolina sports celebrities were in attendance, including Siren Sounders Christian McCaffrey and Luke Kuechly, of the Carolina Panthers, and Rasheed Wallace, former NBA and UNC basketball player, the Hurricanes put forth their best effort of the series but it still wasn’t enough. The Bruins pulled out the 1- victory to hand Carolina its first home loss of this postseason and move 1 win away from its first Stanley Cup Final appearance since 2013.

• Curtis McElhinney started in place of Petr Mrazek, stopping 29 of 31 shots in his first start since May 3rd

Rask: “This year, I feel like we really have each other's backs. We've been in some tight games, and then our depth comes in, and we score some goals and we take over the games.”

BOS coach Bruce Cassidy on Rask: “Probably right now is the best I've seen him play.”

CAR coach Rod Brind’Amour: “There's no way around it. There's no way to sugarcoat it. We got kicked in the you-know-where.”

• Teams that go up 3-0 go on to win the series 97.9% of the time (189-4)
