Dr. Gülay DURMAZ Bursa Uludağ Ü[email protected] Öz Divan şiirinde XVIII. yüzyıl, sosyal hayat ile edebiyat arasındaki bağlantının daha da belirginleştiği bir dönemdir. Edebî türler açısından bakıldığında tarih, gazel ve şarkı sayısında bir artış bulunmaktadır. Muhtevası bakımından değerlendirildiğinde, divan şairlerinin eserleri, bir bakıma o dönemin tanıkları durumundadır. Divanlarda yer alan tarih manzumeleri ise dönemin önemli olaylarını içeren birer tarihî vesika niteliğindedir. Edebiyat ve tarih birbirinden ayrılmaz iki alandır. Bu birliktelik, geçmişin öğrenilmesinde çok büyük öneme sahiptir. Edebiyat demek o döneme ait yaşanmışlıkların şairin gözünden yansıması demektir. Bu çalışmada, XVIII. yüzyıldaki divan şairlerinin tarih manzumelerinden yararlanılarak dönemin şehzade ve sultanları hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Konuyla ilgili düşürülen tarihlerin çoğu, padişahın çocuklarının doğumu üzerinedir. Gerek erkek gerek kız çocuğu doğmuş olsun divan şairi her şekilde bunu fırsat bilmiş ve onlar hakkında tarih düşürme yoluna gitmiştir. Bu manzumelerden özellikle şehzadelerin doğumları sırasında yapılan teşrifat hakkında da bilgi sahibi olmak mümkündür. Bu sayede, saltanat süren padişahın şehzade ve sultanları hakkındaki nesnel olan bilgiler, şairin duygu süzgecinden geçerek manzumelerde yerini almıştır. Abstract: Within this study, Suleymaniye Complex is evaluated from architecture history perspective. The properties of the building is analyzed deeply. It is shown that there are problems with recent usage of the complex. Main research questions are as follows: What is Suleymaniye Complex? How was Suleymaniye used after construction period? How is the building being used recently? What kind of information is available in primary sources? What can be offered for today by means of building usage? Initial hypothesis of the study is that, Suleymaniye is one of the oldest surviving religious building. It is considered as a detailed “waqf”, the idea of construction is a positive example for todays Islamic architecture. Findings are analyzed with pragmatic and genetic historical research method. Firstly the period of Suleiman the Magnificent and Architect Sinan is explained. Secondly general information about the complex is presented. Lastly recent form of the complex is analyzed.

    Turkey 2018 Travel Diary Roger Short Travel Scholarships Report – Diana Avadanii This trip was generously supported by the Roger Short Memorial Trust. Day 1 Breaking into the notebook feels strange as it’s so neat and new and white. But here we go… My travels here were smooth. I flew with Turkish airlines and my mind was blown by the service and facilities. I guess it’s all thanks to me booking early. I got to the Ataturk Airport at 8pm and by 10 pm I was already in my room. The transfers were uite easy, although I have to admit I felt paranoid and unsettled on the 15 mn walk from the metro to my accommodation. I made some day plans before getting here but I am quite flexible. So what’s the plan for tomorrow? Meeting with the Urban Sketching Istanbul group at the Miniaturk park. This park has miniature replicas of emblematic buildings in Turkey and while I think it will be a good intro and overview of architecture I would not have visited it otherwise. I don't know this group. I just messaged them on Instagram and told them I will be around. I hope it will all be fine and I will be able to integrate for the day. Day 2 I had a pretty good time with Urban Sketchers Istanbul. They were all lovely and I wish I would remember all their names, but unfortunately I don’t. The coordinator greeted me and was super friendly. He is a survey engineer and his sister lives in London but he never visited.
