EUROPEAN FESTIVAL AND INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS NATIONALTHEATER MANNHEIM 20. – 27.11.2016 MUSIC THEATRE FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES Hosted by Funded by JUNGE OPER Die Junge Oper wird präsentiert von The European festival “Happy New Ears. Music Theatre for Young Audiences”, which will take place from 20. – 27.11.2016, is earmarked as an arena for forward- looking trends and technically accomplished pro- ductions on the international music theatre scene for young audiences. The intention of the festival is to provide new stimulus for the development of contemporary music theatre for young audiences. Happy New Ears will be hosted by the Junge Oper Mannheim. The Junge Oper Mannheim pools the professional resources of the opera and children’s and youth theatre sectors (Young National Theater) at Mannheim National Theatre. Since it was founded in 2006, it has committed itself to the development of contemporary music theatre for children and young people. On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Junge Oper, Happy New Ears will focus its gaze on Europe’s music theatre scene for young audiences for the first time. In cooperation with the festival “Happy New Ears”, an international congress of the same name organi - zed by the Kinder- und Jugendtheaterzentrum in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland (KJTZ / German Centre for Children’s and Youth Theatre), takes place from the 20. – 22.11.2016 in Mannheim.
