DECEMBER 31 On December 31, the winning ticket in the annual ticket drawing belonged to Charles Mooney. He won two tickets to every show at the Florida Theatre during 2019. The drawing raised $20,000 to benefit the nonprofit Florida Theatre. MAY 23 Joseph Davidian was the winner of the 2019 Jacksonville Jazz Festival Jazz Piano Competition. A jazz fest tradition for over 30 years, five finalists are chosen by a blind panel of judges to compete for a cash prize and a chance to perform on the festival’s Main Stage.

JUNE 2 JULY 25 When the Happy Together Tour rolled into the A screening of the movie High Fidelity Florida Theatre, City Councilman and Former is followed by an appearance by John Mayor Tommy Hazouri was on hand to honor Cusak, who sat onstage with WJCT’s the Classics IV with a Proclamation. The act, Melissa Ross for an entertaining founded in Jacksonville in 1965, is famous for discussion about his career and the film, the now classic hit singles “Spooky,” “Stormy” which he also co-wrote and co-produced, and “Traces.” winning a Golden Globe nomination.
