    BAD COMPANY BIOGRAPHY One of the most acclaimed bands of the classic rock era, England's Bad Company has put its indelible stamp on rock 'n' roll with a straight- ahead, no-frills musical approach that has resulted in the creation of some of the most timeless rock anthems ever. Led by the incomparable singer and songwriter Paul Rodgers, arguably the finest singer in rock 'n ' roll and a huge songwriting talent. Formed in 1973, Bad Company came to life when Rodgers was looking to start anew after the disintegration of his legendary band Free. His powerhouse vocals and songwriting were a main ingredient during Free's impressive five-year run; a period of time that saw the release of seven extremely influential albums that featured Free's minimalist blues-rock approach. Included among Free's dynamic body of work is the 1970 smash, "All Right Now," one of the most recognizable rock anthems ever recorded. Lyrics and melody by Rodgers. He was Free’s main songwriter. Rodgers had met Mott The Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs and after jamming together and listening to new songs that Ralphs had penned and songs that Rodgers had penned, Ralphs made the decision to leave Mott and form a new band with Rodgers. The duo recruited former King Crimson bassist/vocalist Boz Burrell, added drummer Simon Kirke and Rodgers Christened the band Bad Company. Rodgers’ brought in Led Zeppelin manager Peter Grant and Bad Company became the first band signed to Zeppelin's Swan Song label. "I had to fight to get the management and the record company to accept the name Bad Company," explains Rodgers.

He looks at a playground slide. Then he looks at a swing set. Wilson elects to sit down on the saddle swing. In a life of storied ups and downs, Wilson's career is on the upswing. The June release of ``Imagination'' (Giant Records) is a return to 1966's ``Pet Sounds'' in terms of orchestration and instrumentation, with its the ambitious patterns of tympanies and snare drums. But equally important are Wilson's vocals, which are the smoothest and most soulful since 1970's ``Sunflower.'' Wilson, 55, has suddenly defied age. Mick Jagger and Pete Townshend are brittle rock 'n' roll barnacles. Ray Davies and Paul McCartney have matured gracefully. Yet here's Wilson singing with effervescent hope on ``Dream Angel,'' which he co-wrote with his co-producer Joe Thomas and Jim Peterik of Survivor and Ides of March fame. The song was inspired by Wilson's new daughters. They make him happy. He says that is why he is writing happy music. On ``Dream Angel,'' Wilson even returned to the tight, late '50s harmonies of the Dell Vikings (``Come Go With Me'') and the Four Freshmen - happy-go-lucky voices that influenced the Beach Boys when they were young.

Teaching himself guitar at the age of ten, Coy actively pursued music, prophetically meeting future band mate, Zac Brown, at West Georgia University. It was fellow Zac Brown Band member, Clay Cook, who encouraged Coy to book the studio and record the album. “Life is a ever turning road and love and loss are a part of it. This album is my journal of how the last few years have affected me and how I learned to release and heal while living a life of major success with Zac Brown Band” states Bowles. A combination of loss and heartache are evident themes throughout the album. Specifically, Coy was affected by the losses of a mentor, a student, and a childhood friend. Most of the songs of heartache Bowles wrote on the road with Zac Brown Band. Bowles says “Relationships are hard and so is the loss after the realization that it's never going to work.” Other songs like ‘Love Train’ are about being in love and the world spinning beneath your feet. ‘Follow the Sun’ is about friends of Bowles who joined the military. Musicians on the record include long time Fellowship members Jordan Shalhoup and David Englehard, Atlanta's first call drummer Mark Cobb of Y-O-U and Yacht Rock and Nashville studio and session bassist and producer, Matt Mangano.

    September 9th , 2016 NEWS & EVENTS Greetings! Summer is officially over and for some that may be devastating but for MEBUS it is an exciting reality! We had a very busy summer traveling to London for our third annual study abroad trip, developing new courses, MEBUS alums making it in the "real world," and we now have faculty in a Country Music Hall of Fame exhibit! Recent MEBUS Alums Landing Big Jobs After Graduation The MEBUS Class of 2016 is off to an impressive start! After only graduating a few months ago two alums worked their contacts hard and landed amazing entertainment industry jobs! Harper Nevel, Media Studies 2016 MEBUS Study Abroad Trip major, accepted the Operations Another Huge Success! Coordinator position at Sixthman earlier this month while Ansley Sickeler, Management major, more recently accepted a position at BrickHouse Entertainment in Nashville, Tennessee. Congratulations to both Ansley and Harper and we wish you all the success in the future. We look forward to having you back in the classroom as guest speakers one day very soon! Fall semester has begun which means MEBUS got back from London just a few weeks ago. We just completed our third year traveling across the pond to the UK! Upcoming MEBUS Student From discussing the effects of Brexit with Member of Concerts Parliament Steven Pound to meeting with top executives from Sony London, BMI London this year could not have been more Cody Oliver - Sept 9th exciting. We even had a surprise visit to Tileyard Studios where Yellow Daisy Festival we met with music business executives and saw Europe's first Stone Mountain, GA of its kind entertainment industry community.
