The must-sees of photo rooms in Berlin are the C/O Berlin, the museum of photography 1 (Museum für Fotografie including the Helmut Newton Foundation) and the Photographic Collection of the Art Library (Sammlung Fotografie).

Some venues offer combined tickets which entitle the holder to visit multiple exhibitions. 2

Once a year during the end of April until early May the „Gallery Weekend Berlin“ takes pla- 3 ce. For three days up to 50 new and well-respected galleries grant free admission to their exhibitions and events.

The most common closing days of the galleries are sunday and monday. 4

The gallery centers in eastern Berlin are located between Oranienburger Tor, Rosenthaler 5 Platz and Hackescher Markt. In western Berlin they can be found bewteen Hardenberg Platz, Zoologischer Garten and Fasanenstrasse.

All listed galleries are located inside the Berlin S-Bahn ring. You can reach them via the 6 BVG „AB-ticket“. For more than two trips per day a day ticket is recommended.

Season tips: Berlin is most beautiful in spring and summer. But in Octobre the „Festival of 7 Lights“ makes up for the bad weather. For one week the sights of Berin are portrayed in a colourful play of light and art.

Plenty of galleries offer the option to be visited visit outside the opening times. Just ask for 8 an appointment or a private guided tour.
