Rockhurst University Lacrosse MAY CLINIC with Coach Kelley

Players will be put in various drill type situations that will help develop and enhance basic lacrosse fundamentals for all aspects of their game, thus developing the complete athlete. It is Coach Kelley’s mission to progress each camper’s game in some aspect that will benefit them and their team. Many drills used will be the type typically used at a Rockhurst University practice, as well as drills used from Coach Kelley’s playing days at Syracuse University. However, the main emphasis will be having fun and expanding each player’s love of the game of lacrosse.

Kevin Kelley was named the new men’s lacrosse coach at Rockhurst University on May 10, 2013. Men’s lacrosse began its first year as an intercollegiate program at Rockhurst in 2013-14. The Hawks compete at the NCAA Division II level.

Kelley most recently comes from Shawnee Mission East High School in Kansas, where he was the assistant varsity lacrosse coach. While at East, Kelley helped take over a struggling Lancers program and compile a 50-12 record. Over Kelley’s three years, East won the 2011 LAKS Championship, as well as back-to- back LAKC Championships in 2012 and 2013.

Kelley graduated from Syracuse University and played on Syracuse’s NCAA Division I National Championship team in 2000 and the Orangemen’s national runner-up team in 1999. Prior to Syracuse, Kelley attended SUNY Canton. Kelley, were he was an All-Region midfielder in lacrosse in 1997 and 1998.

Kelley played professionally for both the Boston Cannons and the Chicago Machine of Major League Lacrosse (MLL).
