Nigeria Humanitarian Fund (Summary of 2017 & 2018 allocations as 15 August 2018)
Since its operationalisation in May 2017, the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund (NHF) has received contributions of US$63.4 million, including $19.7 million in 2018. The NHF targets to raise $100 million in 2018. Through two standard allocations (SA) in 2017, the NHF disbursed a total of $24.0 million to fund 37 projects. In 2018, $20.0 million has been disbursed through four reserve allocations (RA) to 37 projects. Two reserve allocations in March and May provided assistance to new arrivals in Pulka and across the Monguno – Maiduguri axis, and aimed at reducing cholera-relat- ed mortality and morbidity in Yobe state respectively. The third allocation in June focused on addressing humanitarian needs of populations affected by conflict and displacement in the Middle Belt region of Nigeria. The fourth allocation in July focused on addressing needs of people at high risk of displacement due to extended military operations and whose vulnerabilities are exacerbated during the rainy season.
