HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 1182

A RESOLUTION to honor and recognize the German language students of Mt. Juliet High School for their performance on the National German Exam.
WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to pay tribute to those students who, through their natural talents and unflagging commitment to academic excellence, have distinguished themselves in the classroom; and
WHEREAS, the German language students of Mt. Juliet High School comprise one such exceptional group, having recently taken top honors on the National German Exam and joined the ranks of the best and brightest students in Tennessee and our country; and
WHEREAS, their illustrious accomplishments saw two students gain national prizes in each category, six students receive national rankings, and four students attain achievement certificates in the fiftieth percentile; and
WHEREAS, Karina Lorenz and Christina Roman scored on the gold level or in the top ten percent of students in the United States, with Ms. Lorenz posting a perfect score to take first place among all Tennessee students, a feat never before accomplished by a student from Mt.
Juliet High School; and
WHEREAS, Harley Pendleton and Annabelle Driskill scored on the silver level or in the top twenty percent of students in the U.S., and Olivia Gaston and Halle "H.B." Ford scored on the bronze level or the top thirty percent of all students; and
WHEREAS, Abigail Williams, Colt Meads, Richard "Malachi" Hagner, and Ethan Roberts scored in the top fifty percent of students, while Rebecca Levy, Samantha McKinley, Joseph
Grah, Joseph Donahue, Hannah Hagans, Ryan Brown, Megan Graham, Rebecca Bays, and
Zachary Stavely earned honorable mention recognition; and
WHEREAS, the students' noteworthy achievements surely bode well for their future success and are a tremendous source of pride for their families and their community; and

WHEREAS, the dedication to excellence exhibited by all the German language students of Mt. Juliet High School is clearly deserving of the respect, admiration, and commendation of the members of this General Assembly; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
TENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
CONCURRING, that we hereby honor and commend the German language students of Mt.
Juliet High School on their outstanding performance on the National German Exam and extend to them our best wishes for a happy, successful future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy.
