Monumental Inscriptions held by Archives

Monumental Inscription booklets held by Ayrshire Archives have been produced and published by local Family History Societies. These booklets contain details of headstones within the cemeteries in our local area and can be used to try to identify where your ancestors are buried. It should be noted though that these are not lair registers and therefore anyone buried in an unmarked grave will not appear in these publications. For burial and lair registers you should contact the cemeteries or burials department of the local council responsible for the graveyard or cemetery.
