The surrounding area has beautiful views, Brackenhill is about 5 miles from the charming conservation village of Barr which is a popular destination for those seeking outdoor pursuits, with primary schooling, community shop and superb country walks and excellent cycling paths with the Changue Forest Trail (13km) being one of the many designated cycle routes in the area. For horse riding the many forest trails provide miles of quiet off road hacking in stunning upland landscapes. The River Stinchar is an excellent salmon river and is renowned for its autumn run. Continue for about 8 miles, through Dailly, and after the Bargany Gardens sign (on your right hand side), turn left signed for Barr. Continue over 2 small bridges and Brackenhill is on your right hand side. From the A77 at Girvan, take the B734 signed for Barr. Proceed through Old Dailly and take the next right turn for Barr and follow the directions as above.
