Get into the fun of stitching for a good cause The Canton community has many talented and creative individuals who are stitching, knitting and crafting handmade items for so many to enjoy. At Canton Club 55+, located in the Summit on the Park, groups gather regularly to make crafts that are shared with family, friends and those in need. The Afghan Club spend hours making blankets for Veterans’ Haven, Inc., as well as hats, scarves and mittens for those in need throughout our community. Another dedicated group that meets regularly is the Handcrafters group, who whip up favors for homebound seniors, as well as winter wear for the Canton Goodfellows. Additionally, many of the artisans from these groups participate in one-day events like Little Stitches of Hope. At this event, participants donate their time and talents to sew dresses out of pillow cases for the children of central Africa. The time, dedication and talent that is being poured in to these projects is commendable.
