Public Hearing on Urban Analysis Report 14-18 & 22 September 2020

Event Title Public Hearing on Urban Analysis Report

Background and Objectives Climate change has affected urban areas; however, its impact won’t be felt equally across all cities because each city has different characteristics based on its economic, social and environmental vulnerabilities. Within the Climate Resilient and Inclusive Cities/CRIC Project framework, it is fundamental to obtain better evidence of these vulnerabilities to help us provide appropriate assistance, tools and insights that are relevant to cities in their efforts to address climate change. In light of this, the CRIC Project has undertaken urban studies in 10 (ten) CRIC’s pilot cities that involved a panel of urban experts.

These experts conducted the study from June to September to produce Urban Analysis Report (UAR). UAR highlights city profile, existing climate change- related policies and programme, policy gaps and recommendations. UAR is the key document to help us see the project trajectory while helping cities formulate relevant policies and plans.

The UAR is now available after three months of literature study and in-depth interviews with city stakeholders. There is a need to consult this report to validate findings and to seek feedbacks from relevant stakeholders at a city and national level. The Public Hearing on Urban Analysis Report will be held for this reason.

The objectives of the event are: a. Present data, finding, analysis and recommendations to CRIC’s pilot cities; b. Discuss data, finding, analysis and recommendations with CRIC’s pilot cities;
