Issue #15 The County Fair Who doesn't love the county fair? The smell and taste of fair food, looking at the prize animals, the thrill of going on the rides, the sounds of the people talking, laughing and having a good time.

The first American county fair was thought to have been in Pittsfield Maine in 1807! It became the Berkshire County Fair and still operates today.

Do you love fairs and festivals? Where did you go? Maybe it was Home Days in your city, where you might greet a neighbor you haven't seen in awhile. Maybe it was a church festival or at a school where you used to attend. Take a little while and talk to others about what you liked best about going to fairs and festivals. Draw a picture, listen to some music that reminds you of the good times or make some food that brings back the memories.

Try to capture a little of that magic and hopefully we see each other at one soon!

Ingredients: 4 ripe bananas 2 cups of chocolate chips 2 Tablespoons of vegetable oil Assorted toppings (nuts, sprinkles, melted peanut butter, coconut, etc.) 8 popsicle sticks or stiff straw

Put wax paper on cookie sheet. Peel bananas and carefully insert popsicle stick or straw in bottom of banana and place on cookie sheet. Put in freezer for 1 hour. Melt the chocolate chips with vegetable oil in a deep metal bowl over barely simmering water. Stir and melt until smooth. Remove bowl of chocolate. Get out your bananas and one at a time dip them in chocolate. Use spoon to smooth out over entire banana. Sprinkle toppings on top. Place bananas back in freezer for 10 minutes. Enjoy!!

All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.

Love the animals at the County Fair? Make your own animal planter out of recycled bottles!

https://supersimple.com/article/plastic- bottle-planters/ CARNIVAL Games

Make carnival games out of items you have at home and set them up in your backyard. Challenge your family or housemates!

Other fun games set up pop bottles (can be empty fill with water). Arrange them together and use round discs to toss over them. Don't have discs? Make them out of pool noodles - cut them and tape ends together! Make sure there is enough room between bottles to toss over

There are a lot of fun games that can easily be made at home if you just look around. Decorate empty cans, stack them and knock them down with bean bags **Make sure if more than one person is playing use your own items to throw or wear gloves and sanitize between people! Better yet - set up a game for each of you and make a challenge station!

ZOOM Call Song (In the tune of Take me out to the Ball Game)

It’s time to start a ZOOM Call Start a ZOOM Call with Friends Choir Music & Jazzercise And don’t forget about Tai-Chi We’ll Sing & Dance & Exercise And don’t forget to Stretch Because that’s what we Love to do During our ZOOM Call Look ahead

We are starting our process of re-opening services! Our first participants will return in phase 1 of opening with Euclid AAC and Parma AAC on Monday, 7/20. The staff for these sites returned on 7/13/2020 and received a week long training on new procedures and sanitation practices. We have requested and received approval from DODD to open our other four sites (40 participant capacity at BAAC and ECAAC, 32 at MHAAC and 24 service capacity at RRAAC). We are hoping for an August 3 start date at these four sites. Again, those numbers are based on 10 person groups with their own dedicated space for participating in services and their own entrance and exit, dedicated bathroom, and pathway inside the building.

It is still our plan to invite more individuals and staff back as we are allowed and feel we are able to do so safely. We will continue to watch what is happening around the state and make modifications accordingly to ensure the most up to date practices. Click the link to watch a little bit about the changes we have made to date. https://www.dropbox.com/s/2d6iputf1eyife1/SAW%20Re- opening%20Presentation%202020.mp4?dl=0
