04/25/21 – The Rich Man and Poor Lazarus

READ this week’s Bible story: Luke 16: 19-26 God makes us rich through faith in Jesus. Story Review and Application 1. Which person in Jesus’ story (parable) was poor here on earth? [Lazarus] 2. The Rich man had lots of things on this earth, what did he NOT have? [Faith] 3. Lazarus was poor and sick on this earth, but in what way was he rich? [Faith in Jesus] Although Lazarus was poor in his earthly life, through Faith in Jesus, he received riches and eternal life in Heaven! J Although the Rich Man had many things and riches in his earthly life, he suffered in hell after he died. L 4. In what way are you and I like the rich man? [God blesses us with many earthly things] 5. Name some of the earthly blessings you have. [food, clothes, bikes, money] 6. In what way are we like Lazarus, the poor man? [We have Faith in Jesus] 7. Are earthly or heavenly riches more important? [Heavenly riches] We ask God to help us love heavenly riches more than earthly riches. Memory Treasure: Matthew 6:33 “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
