PC/MAC Installation Guide without a Disc

2 Part 1 STEAM REGISTRATION

Rocksmith 2014 Edition is installed through a service called Steam that’s used by tens of millions of people. Steam ensures that you always have the latest complete installation files, patches, and new songs available to download.

1. Download and install Steam from http://store.steampowered.com/about/

2. After installation, launch Steam and then login or create a Steam account to proceed. 3. Once you are inside Steam, select “ADD A GAME…” from the bottom left- corner, and then select “Activate a Product on Steam…”

4. You will be prompted to accept the Steam Subscriber Agreement and then enter a Product Code.

Find your activation code either from where you purchased it or from the paper insert that came inside the Rocksmith 2014 case.

Enter the key exactly as shown on the insert, using all capital letters and including the dashes. It should look like this: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

5. The next screen will prompt you to install the game. Make sure you have enough free space on the disk drive. Click “NEXT” when you are ready to proceed.

You will then be presented with the End User License Agreement and shortcut options.

6. Rocksmith 2014 will now install. You will see a progress bar, time remaining, etc.

This contains a lot of graphics, multimedia, and music, so the download may take quite some time depending on your connection speed.

If it is progressing slowly, we recommend leaving it on overnight to download.

7. After installation is complete, go to your “LIBRARY” inside Steam. Next mouse-over Rocksmith 2014 and choose “PLAY” .

OPTIONAL STEP: UPLAY REGISTRATION

Rocksmith 2014 Edition can be linked to Uplay, a service that keeps track of your personal profile and progress across all titles. You can also unlock additional bonus content. 8. When you click play in Steam to launch Rocksmith 2014, a dialogue box will pop up with a 15-digit key. This is the CD key you will use if you want to link your Uplay account with Rocksmith 2014. You can also retrieve this key by clicking the “CD Key” link to the right. NOTE: This is different from the key that was used for Steam.

9. When Rocksmith 2014 starts up you’ll be given the option to sign into or create a Uplay account.

10. After signing in or creating an account you’ll receive a prompt to enter in the previously displayed CD key. Steps to find the key are re-stated at this point. Remember, this is NOT the same key used to activate Rocksmith 2014 on Steam.

11. After successfully linking your Uplay account to Rocksmith 2014, creating/selecting which profile you’d like to use, and connecting to Ubisoft servers, you’re all set! You can begin earning Uplay rewards and tracking your playing stats!
