International public broadcasters to meet in Conference to discuss evolving media landscape and the digital revolution

Singapore, 31 August 2011: Top public broadcasters from all over the world will meet in Singapore for the Public Broadcasters International (PBI) 2011 from 26 to 29 October 2011. is honoured to host the 20th anniversary of this conference which will be held at Resorts World™ Sentosa.

PBI was set-up in 1990 as a gathering of broadcasters to collectively share experiences, solutions and best practices in the wake of the challenges faced by the industry. PBI 2011 will cover funding issues, strategies to navigate the digital age, the impact of new media, the digital switchover and the role of public broadcasters in extreme situations such as earthquake and other natural disasters.

Paula A. Kerger, President and Chief Executive Officer of Public Broadcast Service (USA) will be delivering the keynote speech. Distinguished speakers include Christine Wilson, Executive Director of Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, José Marquitos, Vice-President of Rádio e Televisão de Portugal and representatives from British Broadcasting Corporation, France Télévisions and Broadcasting Corporation (NHK).

Partners for PBI 2011 include Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) and (STB).
