SINGER OF NIRVANA

OH YES, NOTHING MORE

I am sure that you have already seen these tshirts with the famous "" ? Yes exactly, it comes from the mythical group NIRVANA. (Besides, "reaching nirvana" means a state of complete serenity). Three persons are behind it; Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselite and the famous ,who made the heart of the group beat. In 7 years of activity, they managed to mark the of the world thanks to the songs "" or "come as you are". Moreover, the group has developed a new wave of music; , considered as the most popular form of in the 90s.

OPEN MINDED

"I'M NOT GAY, ALTHOUGH I WISH I WERE, JUST TO PISS OFF THE HOMOPHOBES"

Kurt supported individual freedoms in all areas. At a time where man had to be "virile", tall and strong, Kurt openly made fun of these absurd standards and wore makeup and dresses. He therefore erased these societal norms aimed at delimiting women and men. Well, we must also admit that its purpose was mainly to displease and attract the curious eye of people. Hoping that the others would ask themselves "what's the point of going into the frame?"

WHAT ABOUT DRUGS ?

"DRUGS ARE A WASTE OF TIME. THEY DESTROY YOUR MEMORY AND YOUR SELF-RESPECT AND EVERYTHING THAT GOES ALONG WITH YOUR SELF- ESTEEM. THEY'RE NO GOOD AT ALL."

Kurt cobain was indeed addicted to drugs; espacially. He didn't really it, but din't encourage its use either. His teeneger illness kind of encouraged him to start using drugs. His use was growing, his discomfort too. He reached the point where, sober, life was only bland.

YOU CAN BE DIFFERENT... AND THAT'S OKAY

"THEY LAUGH AT ME BECAUSE I'M DIFFERENT; I LAUGH AT THEM BECAUSE THEY'RE ALL THE SAME."

From his teenage years and a bit before, Kurt felt "apart". After his parents' divorce, he felt even more lonely. That's the moment where he started to play guitar and write songs. It was also at this moment of his life that he began to use drugs. He managed to make his difference his greatest strength, but also his greatest weakness.
