Join Russell Boyd, awarded cinematographer as he shares on–set stories from the making of Gallipoli, the historical events that informed the film and how the film may never have been made if it hadn’t been for the revival of the Australian film industry in the 70s. Russell Boyd’s career as a cinematographer came to prominence for his work on Picnic at Hanging Rock. Since then Russell has worked alongside Peter Weir on numerous films includingGallipoli , The Year of Living Dangerously and Master and Commander, plus worked as the Cinematographer on scores of films includingPrisoners of the Sun, Tin Cup and Dr. Dolittle. Focussing on Gallipoli, Russell plays clips from the film and shares his personal stories and anecdotes where we discover there was a significant amount of activity going on off-screen as well as on-screen.
