CMS Heroes Honored By Mrs. Hawkins

On Tuesday night four of our students were honored by the Colton mayor and city council at their meeting. Daniel Zuniga, David Zuniga, Cesar Lopez, and Ricky del Toro helped save a man’s life on the morning of November 7th. They assisted an elderly couple on their way to school, stopping the man’s bleeding, calling paramedics, and calming the wife. The city council presented the boys with plaques and letters written by a grateful family member of the man they helped save. We are so proud of these student heroes!

Pathfinder at the Gonzalez Center! By:David Chicago

Have you ever been interested in the fun game of Pathfinder but have yet to find a group of people who you can go out and play with? Well I have your answer! Join the Colton Adventurer’s Guild at the Gonzalez Center! We hold games every tuesday from 4 to 8, however we normally don’t start playing until about 6. You will have to pay a membership fee of about $25, but this is mainly just for insurance in the unlikely case you get hurt while doing something inside of the center. For those of you who are curious as to what Pathfinder even is I have you answer, Pathfinder just allows you to unwind and relax while you’re surrounded by your fellow peers and role playing enthusiasts. If you’re new to the scene, don’t worry! There are plenty of people who are more than happy to show you the ropes and teach you how to play the game. Not to mention, you can earn XP (what you use to level your character up with) by doing things in the real world. Doing simple things like helping a new person with their character or just by showing up you can earn some bonus XP to help give your character that extra edge they may need. You can even earn some by drawing pictures of or writing stories about your character. So if you’re artistically gifted or just have a knack for writing, these two would be the perfect way to get that extra boost to get your character to the next level on their journey. Hey you, have you heard what had happened,well if you haven’t i can tell you. On October 28, 2015 students from Mrs. Stachowiak’s class were drawing on the front walkway of the school. Some of the drawings that these students drew were: Pumpkins, Frankenstein, Fall themes and other related Fall/Halloween images. The drawing’s were cool- all having their different creative ideas. Well, most of you might think that they drew with markers or crayons when in reality they used chalk. WHAT! I know. It took the students 3 periods, even though it took 3 periods the drawings came out AMAZING! Thank you to all of the student artists and Mrs. Stachowiak for your hard work.

Q: What are the kinds of things you do to help the community? A: We do canned food drives, and we do Pennies For Patients. Q: What is the purpose of the club? A: The purpose of the club is to study the Bible, and pray for people.

After school club, Solid Rock, has a big heart for many people around the world. You may see them at lunchtime selling candy canes, and with those candy canes a message is attached. As you may know there are many people in the world who are homeless and don’t have food to eat. Mrs. Castillo thought that should change. A little girl is getting sponsored by Mrs. Castillo. All the money that she gets from selling the candy canes go to that little girl and her village to either give her a goat, or some clothes on her back. As this Christmas season is here Mrs. Castillo wants to bring the true meaning of Christmas to this little girl. With your support this little girl can have clothes on her back or food to eat. Hi I am Sir Whiskers, yes I know my name is stupid. But anyways hello I am a fluffy cat and one day I will rule the world!!! I sit on my fluffy and elegant bed feeling superior like I always do. Man doesn’t everyone want to be me? May all humans bow down to me! My human passses by and sits at his office. Feed me food you peasant. I said, “ Feed me food peasant”. DO I HAVE TO REPEAT MYSELF AGAIN?! Shush Cat. Excuse me? Do you know who I am? The human continues his work and ignores me. At this point I was incredibly unhappy. I jumped on his desk and sat on his keyboard. Goodness gracious cat! I’ll get you the food if you want it that bad… Silly human… I always get what I want… Isn’t it obvious…? I skip towards the kitchen and there it was! Oh my… It’s… Beautiful! Well my human I do give you credit for such a beauty, but don’t get so full on yourself! Now for my royalness to eat. After I ate I took a nap on the couch. What a comfy couch I thought as I closed my eyes to the beginning to a magical nap. Later that afternoon I was awaken by a shake, I was lifted by my human and taken somewhere. I couldn’t tell where he was taken me my vision was still blurry and I was still tired. He placed me on cold tile, when all of the sudden I hear a loud sound bursting out of a pipe. The door behind me closed and at that moment I knew something was terribly wrong. Then I remembered this was the… PUNISHMENT CHAMBER! HOW DARE YOU HUMAN LET ME OUT, YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS! LET ME OUT! HELP! Whoa there! Calm down, it’s just a bath. YOU MONSTER LET ME OUT! the human reaches down for me and grabs me heading over to the huge white box with the… Water. I quivered in fear. Just the sound of it… water. I BEG OF YOU ! YOU WILL REGR- I was placed I was placed in the water and it was horrible. even worse the human grabbed a bucket and dumped the water all over my fur Everything was black. I couldn’t see a thing.. could this be the end..? This may be the last time I can talk to you guys… Goodbye. All of the sudden I was raised and taken out of the big white box. Could it be I was chosen by the mighty cat gods? A warm gust of wind blows toward me, and I began to feel warm and dry. Then I was brushed, it was no lie that I was being treated royally. Being brushed is a great feeling like many humans scratching me. Soon after that I could see again. It was no mistake the cat gods decided for me to live. It was finally night and I could see my human preparing for the next day. This was the moment I could get revenge. The human walked into the room and laid down on his bed. A bit later the human turned off the lamp and closed his eyes. I jumped on his bed and walked towards him. I climbed on his chest and walked towards his face. And I sat on it. Thats right guys even common people like you and me can become great people (if you try that is). Hold on you don’t even know who I’m talking about (sorry! I can be forgetful sometimes). I’m talking about the one and only KATY PERRY. So I’ll just stop talking and get started on how she became an awesome person. Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (Katy Perry) is a singer, songwriter, and actress. She is known for her awesome songs (like “Roar,” “Part of Me,” and some other cool songs), and her crazy stage props, and exaggerating fashion. Katy was born on October 25, 1984 in a strict family. Why strict? Thing is, Katy’s parents didn’t let her watch t.v programs like MTV and some other programs. Also she was not allowed to listen to popular music ONLY religious songs. Katy began to take singing lessons when she was nine years old and at age thirteen she learned to play guitar. Katy then realized that she wanted a music career. In 2001, Katy released a gospel album called “Katy Hudson.” ; not a lot of people heard it, but that didn't stop Katy. One of her friends had introduced her to the music of Queen and even today that is still Katy’s favorite groups. At about age 17 katy moved to L.A to work with producer and songwriter Glen Ballard. "It was five years of living in L.A. with no money, writing bad checks, selling my clothes to make rent, [and] borrowing money," she told Seventeen magazine. Glen and Katy weren’t able to find a company to publish Katy’s albums. Later on Katy was finally able to publish her first single called “Ur So Gay.” A lot of people like that album. Katy’s career didn’t take on until she released her next single called “I Kissed a Girl,” and that was a big hit. Then the album “One of the Boys” made it to the top ten on the Billboard hot chart. She then took the stage name Katy Perry. In 2010 Katy released her album “Teenage Dream,” where her single “California Gurls” reached to #1 on the Billboard charts. In 2012 Katy released another album that contained two very successful singles “Part of Me” and “Wide Awake.” In her 2013 Prism album, Katy had more amazing songs “Roar” and “Dark Horse” with Juicy J. Recently in 2014, Katy made a new song called “This is How We Do,” which also resulted to be a big hit. On December 2, 2015 there was a tragedy that left all of california in shock. The shooters killed 14 people and wounded 21 people in Inland Regional Center. The two people that were caught, Syed R. Farook and Tashfeen Malik, were gunned down a couple of hours later about two miles away. Victims were at a party and one of the suspects got into a fight with another employee and they left and a while later the gunman burst through the door and shot at the people. The cops then found 14 dead. Then the shooters fled. The police and SWAT team later found two of the gunman who were found and killed.

Intro So have you ever wanted to date a skeleton?...... Well you can in this game you can, if you want. So today we are playing Undertale. Characters There are a lot of characters in this game. So i’ll just focus on the 3-5 main characters. Flowey Is a ..flower. He is the first character you meat besides your character. Don’t trust him, trust me. Don’t trust him. HE IS EVIl. Tutorial is … goat, mom, queen, thing. She is the second person you will meet. If you couldn't tell by her name, the is the tutorial. She is the goat mom… thing that you have to fight to progress through the game. However, you can spare her by choosing spare her about 20 times. Yeah 20 times while trying to avoid her attacks and trying to not die. A tip: if you get your down to 2 she will purposely not hit you with her attacks. Sans, Sans, sans. Sans is a skeleton. HE is one of the most beloved characters of the game. He will be your best friend if you're not doing the genocide run you are going to have a unpleasant experience. And yes, he is named after founts. Papyrus is a skeleton and the brother of sans and is another really funny. Papyrus Needs his spaghetti. Yes he is known for his spaghetti. Gameplay The gameplay is pretty standard, it’s not so different than any other rpg that you've seen. you explore, battle enemies, and progress the story, we’ll get to the story later. Their are different attack styles that you can play. The cool thing is is that each ending is different. Story The story is pretty normal when it comes to an R.P.G. you are a human you have fallen into a hole, where all of the monster lives after an apparent war that the humans won and forced the monsters to go underground and take refuge there. You have to get out of the underground because you want to see your mom and or punch the person who dared you to climb the mountain.
