Catalogue of the Present Chinese Motorcar Production in 2002 CATALOGUE OF THE PRESENT CHINESE MOTORCAR PRODUCTION CHINA MOTOR VEHICLE DOCUMENTATION CENTRE 2 Rue de Remparts F 66560 Ortaffa France tel/fax +33 468214998 ON-LINE EDITION Welcome in the on-line edition of the catalogue, permanently updated. This catalogue is for sale on-line. The file is heavy, 12.62 MB. And that brings us to the problem of a ’heavy’ file: one needs a modern computer with a good internet connection to receive the catalogue on-line. For those (and that are many of our clients) who haven’t got this, we produce the catalogue printed like before, or we can offer a cd-rom copy. A pity is that the printed version has only black-and-white pictures, like the earlier editions, because of the high printing costs of color pictures. China Motor Vehicle Documentation Centre has been established in the Netherlands in 1972. The centre moved to France in 2004. The aim of the centre is to collect all kinds of information about the Chinese automobile industry, present as well as historical. The centre has a large library of Chinese automobile reference material, and owns a large photo-collection of Chinese cars, collected since 1978 and updated since then each year. The centre publishes several times per year in European car magazines. The centre was the Chinese correspondent of the German yearbook Autokatalog from 1978 till 2001.The centre produced the Chinese entries of the Beaulieu Auto Encyclopaedia that is published in 2000. The Society of Automotive Historians has awarded the Beaulieu Auto Encyclopædia with the Cugnot Award. Since 2005 the Centre is the Chinese correspondent for the famous Swiss Katalog der Automobil Revue/ Catalogue de la Revue Automobile. The centre is a member of the Society of Automotive Historians, of the China Hong Kong Red Flag Club and of the International Beijing Jeep owners Club. The centre published the first Catalogue of the present Chinese motorcar production in 2002. Prices of the cars are in their original currency, the Chinese yuan or renminbi. At September 28, 2007, the rate for the yuan was: 1 US $ = 7.51 Yuan. In Euro this was 1 Euro = 10.62 Yuan. The car prices given are sales prices (retail prices) in China. Staff members took about 80% of the photos that are used in this catalogue, as we prefer to use our own photos. About 15% comes from company’s advertisement, brochures, and webpages. The last 5% is from different sources. We don’t use photos with copyrights clearly belonging to others. The copyright of the text of this catalogue, and of the photos taken by our staff members, belongs to the China Motor Vehicle Documentation Centre. The use of these text or photos from this catalogue has to be permitted by the Centre. We are doing our best to be accurate and complete. Note that we are compilers and not the final source of the information. For that reason, we take no responsibility for the information we supply. Foreign companies are allowed to produce cars in China, but only in cooperation with Chinese partners. The Chinese partner keeps the majority in the joint venture. Each foreign company is allowed to have two Chinese partners. The result of these limitations is that we see on the one © 2008 - China Motor Vehicle Documentation Centre page 5 hand the Chinese companies, producing cars with several foreign companies, and on the other hand the foreign companies, having two different Chinese partners. Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad Automobility in China Dr. Toni Marzotto “The mountains are high and the emperor is far away.” (Chinese Proverb)1 Title: The Rise of China's Auto Industry: Automobility with Chinese Characteristics Curriculum Project: The project is part of an interdisciplinary course taught in the Political Science Department entitled: The Machine that Changed the World: Automobility in an Age of Scarcity. This course looks at the effects of mass motorization in the United States and compares it with other countries. I am teaching the course this fall; my syllabus contains a section on Chinese Innovations and other global issues. This project will be used to expand this section. Grade Level: Undergraduate students in any major. This course is part of Towson University’s new Core Curriculum approved in 2011. My focus in this course is getting students to consider how automobiles foster the development of a built environment that comes to affect all aspects of life whether in the U.S., China or any country with a car culture. How much of our life is influenced by the automobile? We are what we drive! Objectives and Student Outcomes: My objective in teaching this interdisciplinary course is to provide students with an understanding of how the invention of the automobile in the 1890’s has come to dominate the world in which we live. Today an increasing number of individuals, across the globe, depend on the automobile for many activities. Although the United States was the first country to embrace mass motorization (there are more cars per 1000 inhabitants in the United States than in any other country in the world), other countries are catching up.

Tech2Win communicates with a vehicle through a vehicle communication interface (VCI), using the MDI. Almost all vehicle systems supported by Tech2 will also work with the Tech2Win. The same software downloaded and executed on Tech2 will also run on Tech2Win. For that reason, the TIS2Web communication procedures used for Tech2 are also applicable for Tech2Win. Tech2Win allows you to store as many configurations as you wish. A configuration defines how Tech2Win is to be used. Each configuration may use its own PCMCIA card file or MDI serial number.
